ARGH our Bible Study books have not arrived in time for the start of Bible Study. I was NOT worried as Nav Press has the first 25 pages of the study available to download and print while you wait for your order.....BUT my comptuer is saying that my "network security" won't allow access to this site and I should check with the administrator!!! WHAT? I am the administrator I think. I have no network or security that I know of!!! UGH...I need these for tomorrow night. It won't let me on NAV PRESS????? Good greif - that's as safe a site as you can visit. I've been there lots before...that's how I got the info to order the books.

Frustrated here in TX and probably won't sleep tonight thinking about this. Raise The Roof 1

Mike- if you see this - call Kwame at work!!!! Or call home and I'll give you a message. He wants to help you but time is short. I have no phone numbers etc to pass on to him......
I don’t think it would be exaggerating to say that the world changed on 9-11-2001. At least our world changed. I hope that America has not quickly forgotten 9-11 and that we are in a War. We can ignore the war, disagree with the war, support the war or protest the war….but that won’t change the fact that there are those out there who hate enough to kill. I have many friends whose sons have decided to enter the armed forces after 9-11. I know many whose dh’s have been overseas for a year or longer. Air port lines are longer. There will never be a day when my young ones don’t know about terror….strange the sense of security we enjoyed as a country before 9-11. Today my prayers are with all those who are remembering the loved ones they lost. I commit anew to pray for our leaders at this time in history.

I began the day by disinfecting the entire house. I washed all the boys’ bedding – including their pillows, stuffies, toys. I have kicked this flu bug as best as I know how…and I’m covering all the effort with lots of prayer.

Krista, Nolan, Zander and I went for a walk. We made it up to SW and back. Krista DID have to ride Zander’s tricycle back. I sure wish I’d thought to bring a camera. She looked like one of those clowns in the circus.

Jared and Krista organized the game closet for me today. YIPPEE!! I organized the shed…am working on the garage.

I also spent some time figuring out invoices for tonight’s Shop Natural co-op. We had had several out of stocks to deal with. I was surprised that the kids and I met the truck. Only Adrienne and her family came to help and we STILL had everything done by 6:45 p.m. – a whole 15 minutes ahead of schedule….AND this was the biggest order ever. We’re good. :::snort::: I was nervous as to how this would work with Mike gone. Don, the truck driver, teased me about joining the church co-op where I pick up. Evidently, not only have they been inviting me but they’ve been talking to him. He told them that he doesn’t think I’ve decided. He told me that he thinks that it would be easiest for me to continue doing what I’m doing as long as I want to. We have a bigger order than the other co-op and if we joined them we’d have to sort it all THERE before I could take it home. Also – they are very confused and confusing. Don cracked me up by commenting that my daughter (Krista) was tough. He’s from the Bronx. He admires this. He said he loves to see a confident young lady because then you know that they won’t be taken advantage of. She was lugging 50# sacks of grain around with her brothers. She also has taken up Tae Kwon Do as self-defense. I told him I agreed that it is reassuring to see a girl who exudes strength and confidence. You go Krista!

I bought a TON of goodies that I normally wouldn’t buy this time. The girls have found that some of the all natural – organic stuff is good. It costs a pretty penny so I send them back to WA with organic soda, chips and crackers…..

Cy worked today. Jamin and Bre went and found a yard to mow. Then they came home and mowed ours.

That’s the day…..tomorrow will be another busy day. I think all the days will be busy now until the girls leave next Wednesday.

Sunday Evening
First Sunday down…only 24 – 28 more to go! :::snort:::

This was NOT a typical Sunday. I know that Nolan has the flu bug…but I can’t determine if Stacia is ONLY teething or has the flu bug too. She’s got Technicolor diapers. I decided early on today to run to Sam’s and buy some disposable diapers until she is back to normal. I can’t have her staining all my new diapers. {bg}

The highlight of the day was talking to my sweetheart. Of course, you guessed that with the opening paragraph being about diapers didn’t you? :::snort::: The phones are funky. There is a delay and an echo…it was just like talking to my parents on the mission field.

The “old” children went out to lunch today. I stayed home with Nolan, Zander and Stacia. They went to Quiznos and ate outside. They were gone a LONG time and I later learned they had a good time sitting around and visiting. I think it turned out good that they had the chance to go out alone.

Krista, Jamin, Jared, Josiah and I played “Missing Link”. We find it funny that we know so little of the “social” questions. Jared was astonished that ONE woman could have 7 husbands – Elizabeth Taylor.

Bre went in early to chapel as she was singing with the worship band. I stayed home with the aforementioned younger children and the rest headed to church.

While everyone was gone (well NOT everyone but anyone with energy), I worked on getting ready for a new school year. I have decided to get rid of all but three years of my old Sonlight manuals. I was going through them and muttering and such…..books everywhere….Zander commented, “Mom, my job is to play. YOUR job is ReeeeeeeLax!”

When they got home Zander and I were outside. He saw Mike’s Honda coming down the ally and said, “Is THAT my DADDY???!!!!” It was sad. I said, “No, it’s not your daddy”. Then he said, “Oh it must be my brother???”. LOL

The kids had a great time at chapel. It was the first time they had heard our new Ch. – Ch. Barnes - preach. They enjoyed his message. Our worship leader is very excited to try a live hookup from overseas and have Mike’s service played here….I don’t know…some sort of joint service between the students and the troops over there….sounds cool but tricky to me…guess that’s why it’s HIS idea. LOL

Well, I had a ton of devotional thoughts I was going to share…but this has gotten quite long enough as is. LOL

*Note Mom – I realize that Ch. Barnes has Gram’s last name but I think they are from different parts of the country….not sure. I asked but can’t remember.

Choosing Joy!
YUCK

Stacia had terrible diapers all night. Nolan woke up and has thrown up three times already. He's not a gracious throw upper.....I think THAT is a guy trait too by the way....to be laid at the feet of T-poisioning. :::snort:::

I'm guessing the flu bug is coming back for round two....ugh. So.....I won't go to church this a.m. and will most likely divide and conquer for tonight. We'll see how they are doing by then.
4 a.m. Question

Zander climbed into bed with me at 4 a.m.

He said, "Mom, where did Dad go?"

Have YOU ever tried to explain Middle East countries, War on Terror, 6 months or maybe more or less to a 4 year old at 4 a.m.?

He finally said, "Maybe he's getting me a new battery for my truck. " :::snort:::

I think I will need to find out which truck needs a battery and move that to the top of the "to do" list.
