Customizing Layout

Does anyone know: If I hit customize layout....will I loose things like the profile picture, proud AF wife graphic, site meters, icons and tickers? The graphic and profile pictures etc are on the currently crashed computer....

Willing myself to take the plunge but trying to get a realistic view of how long it will take to add all the elements back....

I use the customize to move things around. I have never had a problem losing items when using the "customize" button.

Emily - I meant from the current blog to the new blog...If I remember right you started your blog with the new beta things.

I'm wondering about all the icons, graphics, tickers etc that I've added to blogger.

Move to Wordpress.com! Free, easy to use, and no annoying photo uploading problems. I'll even help you make a "duplicate" blog to try it out!

You will lose all of your html coding, but it isn't hard to put back.

When I switched over, it only took about 30 minutes to fix it all back the way it was.

The things in the sidebar are super easy with the new features as you just use their "add items"
feature, but anything that is outside of the boxes...your ticker and bring them home stuff will have to be readded.

Jen - photogenic - I went to word press and was going to try it out and for some reason it didn't work for me. I couldn't get pictures to upload there either.

I will check it out again.....but if I move to wordpress will it switch the info from THIS blog over to it?????

OK Debbie...and if I have terrible trouble - you'll be able to coach me???????

Maybe I should just post my password and let you all play with it. :::snort::: Nah - that would destroy all semblance of security - wouldn't it? LOL

DeEtta,

Technically there is an import feature at Wordpress that should import your entire Blogger blog over to their server. When I tried it however, Blogger was being a Bugger and refused to let me do it. lol...

If you ever want to try, I'll be happy to set it up and see if I can import your blog. You can always change the password if you decide to keep it. HTH!

I'll help in anyway I can, but I must say, if I can do it, anyone can. I'm not terribly computer literate, although I'm not afraid to thrash around until I figure it out.

I was scared to mess with my blog also and now I wish I'd done it sooner. It really isn't that hard and those tickers and such were not hard to put back. I don't think I spent more than an hour fiddling around with the new blog before it was the way I wanted it. I really is easier. Go for it!

ARGH...maybe. I told myself I'd be sure the co-op order was done before I messed with any more computer projects. LOL
