Once again the photos of Arielle aren't loading. I wonder if it the color green she is wearing - it's the same color as one of her quilt squares. They had built "Grandma's house" and she was inside dressed in a mask etc. It was cute. I'll try to load it later.

Packages continue to arrive daily! I loved getting the big SL boxes we used to get; but I'm starting to think the daily boxes are even more fun.

Today

What DID I do today?

The day began with an early a.m. disagreement with the national Tri-care call center. They were informing ME that I could not get more views taken for a year because I am only allowed one mammogram a year. I informed them that this was STUPID – since THEY referred me for the first mammogram and THAT doctor was requesting this.

Then I had the fun at the Imaging Center. Seriously, mammograms are not that bad…I prefer them to many medical procedures.

I ran to HEB to buy some “stuff”. I was going to try AGAIN to adapt the kids’ favorite Shepherd’s Pie.

We did some school.

I made 3 loaves of bread. I also made 24 “hamburger” buns. I dumped a ton of oregano, marjoram, sage, thyme, basil and garlic in them. Yum.

I made Shepherd’s Pie. Yippee…I finally got that recipe adjusted so that it is mom accepted and kid approved. I better write down what I did before I forget. This USED to be an “easy dinner”; it’s not quite that now…but it finally tastes good.

I made 3 more lbs of sausage. It is aging in the fridge….I remembered to date the outside of the Ziploc this time. LOL

I bought a few gifts for PWOC women. We had PWOC – women’s Bible study. The fun part of this study is that I’m trying really hard to get done by 7:30 and then we sit around and have tea for 15-30 minutes. It’s been fun to get to KNOW each other a bit better.

I came home, got children in bed, answered calls from my parents and Mike….and now its 11:24 (I know the blog clock is off) and I’m thinking I may read a few blogs and head for bed….

Update on my Dad

The doctor finally called my dad today. His CAT scan was last Tuesday. He said that they need to talk on Friday about what to do. It appears that there has been very little new bone growth and none in some areas. Before the second surgery they said that a bone graph was the only other option…I have no idea if that is still an option. He has also been diagnosed as “borderline diabetic”. He has a host of other medications etc that he is taking and I’m not sure any of the doctors are looking at the “big picture”.

Please continue to pray for my folks. 1. They need to find a lawyer – NOW, 2. They need wisdom to know what to do and deal with the options the doctor provides, 3. For dad’s healing and peace of mind…..contemplating a 3rd surgery is not pleasant and it would seem to ME that any option presented will involve another surgery and lengthy rehab.

School Daze

The day got off to a late start as I had an early start at the Woman’s Imaging Center. {G}

Josiah has a light schedule this year. He volunteered to run to the library for me again. Thank God we don’t have daytime curfew here and he is able to run to the library alone. He took a box of books in and is sure to come home with another box.

Jamin continues to focus on dotting each “i” and crossing each “t”.

I decided it would be best if the littles and I simply worked on our story quilt. I LOVE this idea! Thanks again, Jodi. We’ll try to read a bit this afternoon.

Thanks all for your prayers. I was very, very calm about all which was sort of a miracle given my active imagination.

The day began bright and early with some "discussion" between tri-care and the imaging center as to what I WOULD have done and WHO would pay for it. With that resolved I marched in for my tests. The doctor read the reports right away and the verdict is that I'm fine. I'll NEVER miss an annual mammogram but at this point they are confident saying that I don't need further treatment....let's say it together "other than an annual mammogram".

I FORGOT!!!!

This worked really well last week. We didn't eat even ONE lunch or dinner out until Sunday. We chose Applebees - trying new places we've not been. We weren't thrilled. Seems we eat a lot of salad...I need to make a note to get some other veggies for those who don't like salads. Of course, we're already off because I didn't get meatballs done before it was time to go meet the truck tonight. Oh well....we didn't eat out.
