Photobucket BITTER - SWEET

Josiah is leaving on Sunday for Boston. He will return and move into an apartment a week later. Today he and I went shopping to find things for his apartment. He'd been telling folks he had a fridge, a futon, a tv, a table (last three items complements of our storage unit); all he needed was a microwave. We learned this wasn't true. He'll have another big shopping trip before he moves out.

Silverware - who cares if they match the spoons need to be BIG

Oh yeah - he needs a vaccum

He spent a couple of hundred dollars...I figure I can pawn offgive him a cast iron skillet, storage containers, pitcher, cookie sheet....but he'll do more shopping next payday.

We ended the excursion as this family marks any momentous occasion (girls leaving, 1st day of school, parents flying to Philippines); we went to DQ.

He's been clearing out his dresser, desk etc. Back at home we discovered that the silly string he threw away exploded in the alley.

Mommy note: Don't you think he's a great sport to allow me to follow him through walmart taking photos? It IS fun to help a child set up an apartment...much nicer that he's moving 1 mile instead of 2000 miles...and yet this means that in a year we'll be saying goodbye to him...and possibly Jamin (Please God give us an assignment Jamin thinks is cool - EUROPE)....I didn't cry at all or embarass myself while shopping....I am tearing up now....but I'm going to go swim before heading in to PWOC Project Night. ::snort::

I like my charts and lists and plans.....and this looks awesome. Click the photo to see a slide show and the table of contents. The Master Plan is a fully interactive planner with about a zillion different pages. Julie, currently has a pre-sale going on for $10 off.

I really have mixed feelings about sharing THIS tidbit. I was out reading blogs tonight and found out that Karen is giving away one free copy of the planner on her blog. Tomorrow is the last day to sign up and there aren't that many who have entered. Ah - ALRIGHT - go here to enter to win a copy of The Master Plan.

MIKE PASSED HIS TEST!

We are praying he can get an extension so that he has until 6 Aug to finish the other 3 tests. I'm not sure how he'll do that in 6 weeks....but he will. He has to. ::snort::

Honest, this time it's not that he procrastinated...it's hard to do a year long course while working a full time job....if you want to have a family life. LOL

We're Proud of Him!

Jared finished up his school year and will now kick his lawn business into gear for the summer. He is officially a high school student now.

Josiah began looking to sign up for electricity at his new apartment.

Photobucket Blast from the Past

Do you remember these dresses? I distinctly remember wearing these in the 70's, remember seeing photos of them in the 70's. ::snort::

Photobucket

I was at Walmart trying to find a life vest, pool chemicals and filters when I saw THESE. No, they weren't by the pool things. They were in fabric where I was looking for cheesecloth so that I can make yogurt covered pretzels. ::Snort::

I KNEW this would solve a problem I've been having the past few weeks: company when I'm in my swim suit. I can throw this on - it's isn't flattering, but it is modest. I bought enough to make myself one and then saw the stuff to make a shirt. There was a LOT of it - enough to sew Stacia two dresses. She calls them our swimming dresses.

I had no idea she would love matching me. The boys never want to. Arielle would rather eat artichokes than wear a dress.

Photobucket Pool Blahs....

The water test's fine with the ph, alkaline levels, chlorine on the test strips. The water, however, is cloudy. What would you all do? Keep dumping in chemicals?

Photobucket It Feels Like Friday!

A very normal day around here. Gym, school, laundry, co-op ordering....did I say school? We are zipping now. We finished a whole week of TOG today - of course we are saving the hand's on things until we are done with "school". LOL Workbooks for next year arrived yesterday. Arielle and Nolan began them today. Maybe we are doing next year this year....

The highlight of the day was Stacia, Nolan and I going out to the Rec Camp to pick up Mike.

He promptly hibernated at the base library.

Everyone was home tonight! We ate dinner. Mike went to finish studying. Arielle and Nolan played Settlers of Catan. Josiah, Jamin and Jared headed to the gym and found some other men to play basketball against. I swam with Stacia and Zander.

The young ones are in bed. The older ones are back from the gym and settling in. Mike is nearly done with studying and will take another ACSC test tomorrow.

Cindy emailed that my page prints from Costco are done. I wanted one page of 3 as glossy and one page of 3 as matte so I could see which I like best. They did them all one or the other...and so they did the other print again. I'll be able to see the SAME photos in both finishes. I'm excited to see them. Friday night is our PWOC project night....I need to decide which photos I'm going to work on.....digital or traditonal. I don't think I can get a wifi on base...haven't been able to so far. Security being what it is. ::snort::
