Sunday Recap

The day began at 3 a.m. I had volunteered to head up the Parish breakfast. It seemed like a good idea at the time....::snort:: It all turned out well. I had lots of help.
We rushed home after the breakfast to pick up children....
Ready for chapel service #2....

Photobucket

Yep, missing the 3 older "children".

After lunch we kept working.....
This young man does all his work with a joyful heart. ::snort::

Josiah said he was glad to help Mike extend this brick "patio" - it made him feel that he was part of the move and helping us out.

Photobucket
This is much nicer. The previous owner had installed some brick...this brings it out to match the patio and the sod will grow up to it.

A full day - but a wonderful day!

Can we PLEASE go get shots?

UGH! YUCK! Um - OK.

Zander is convinced that his shots are not going to sting because he's spent the week praying to God about this. The older 3 got shots yesterday, but immunization won't do children under 10 and peds wasn't open.

Zander has maneuvered a trip to the bowling alley after shots...OUCH - WHY????? and so he's pestering me to go get shots today.

I need to keep focused on garage sale.....and making signs for tonight's TEA party....but we're going to go get shots and go bowling. ::snort::

Will my child ever trust me again after this? I haven't said it won't hurt. This will be Stacia's first "conscious shots" - it's time. Mike will be there...and when HE tells them we don't want X shot - they listen. They tell ME that my wishes are illegal. ::snort:: I think it's the menacing eyebrow.... Yes, we are responsible adults. We chose not to immunize Stacia when she was young because she had a reaction to one shot and we worried about autism. The base pediatrician suggested we wait until she was 2 or 3 to give her further shots...she's 3 1/2 now. However, I KNOW they will need Mike to hold her down...she doesn't take things she doesn't like passively. Wonder WHERE she got that trait? ::snort::

There's a Wasp in my Shower!

He was as surprised as I to share our close a.m. quarters.

My typical method of dealing with surprising animals, screaming for a young man, was not going to work in this situation.

I was not about to let him keep zipping around me in my vulnerable state. I killed that wasp with a Mary K Timewise Cleanser bottle.

I feel empowered to face the day.

Saturday in Photos

If a photo is truly worth 1,000 words this entry ought to take care of today. ::snort::

Bea is old and sometimes has "trouble"...Biokleen is wonderful stuff. We'll give Bowers all our leftovers.
Photobucket

Taking the trampoline down. Still available free.
Photobucket

Preparing the yard
Photobucket
We love Olive's Nursery....Tommy is very helpful and even loaned us his truck. This was the big project of the day.
Photobucket

Three tubs of NEW, SEALED educational kits ready for Saturday's garage sale.
Photobucket

Preparing walls....how did holes get in those walls????
Photobucket

Beatrix Jemima Puddleduck had to tour the perimeter of the newly sodded back yard.
Photobucket

Ah - the closest I got to a face front photo....she's always avoided cameras. It's funny because she can't see or hear these days but still SENSES when we have a camera.
Photobucket

Vacuuming the ceiling
Photobucket

New doorstops - WHY did the previous owner have them all pointing down????
Photobucket

Steam and sweat - removing wall paper decals in the bathroom. No more frogs.
Photobucket

It's new....
Photobucket

Honest - had to have a bit of fun.

Random Japanese Trivia - Asamushi Aquarium

(浅虫水族館 Asamushi Suizokukan) also called Aquarium Asamushi is going to be "near" us.

We were able to print a brochure about it at Misawa Life. I tried to find a link to the Aquarium itself but all the links I find appear to be broken.

Check out this salt water aquarium....
We've been studying Zoology 2 - fish and such....and bemoaning the fact that there are no oceans near San Angelo. We'll not finish our text before we move....but we are planning some field trips to make the "book work" we've done come alive.

Taxes - bahumbug!

Taxes - filed! Early. ::snort::

Really, this whole mess of a tax code needs to be fixed. It is simply unfair...says the mother of a minor who owes taxes! I'm all for a flat tax....straight across the board...get rid of all the loopholes....no refunds....no deductions....pay a flat tax on what you earned....get rid of hundreds of IRS jobs....

We're planning to attend a TEA party on the 15th.

Taxed Enough Already!
