Tuesday - 30 minutes left of the day and I believe all is finally quiet at home.

Mike is working late hours - both trying to catch up from leave time and getting things at the office/chapel prepared for his upcoming extended absence.

Josiah didn't have to work today. We all voted to eat left overs and have an extra movie night this week. We had three movies waiting from Netflix when we got home. We watched *The Rookie* - a great baseball tale set among other places...right here in W TX. Shoot - the try outs were even set in THIS town. {G}

Earlier in the day the girls (all of em! Yippee) and I went in search of matching shirts for our family photo - scheduled for Thursday. I was all for WHITE but Mike wanted light blue polos. We looked. We ended up with some light blue and some darker blue to break it up. Everyone is set except for Stacia. I may dress her in a light blue dress. When Arielle modeled her new blue shirt we all decided it was time to take her shopping for her first training bra. Poor thing. She was blushing and Bre said, "Well Mom USED to hold them up to us like this to see if they fit" and proceeded to demonstrate on Krista. I insisted that I remember no such thing!! We cracked up. Without thinking, about 30 seconds later I said, "Arielle, turn around and lets see if these are the right width for you". Of course back at home the fun continued as Bre and I wanted to see if the thing fit her. I told Bre that poor Arielle is going to have a room full of Mom and sisters the day after she gives birth wanting to know if all is well. LOL BTW I am very careful what I share about the kids so that I dont' invade their privacy and Arielle said I could share the story about shopping.

We had planned to spend today with Debby and her son Michael...somehow we missed each other.

Jamin and Jared put togehter another big bookshelf for me. ARGH. I may have to start ditching books. We moved the smaller one that was in the library into the younger boy's room. All the children books are now in their room. I still need to organize the rest of the books. More than straightening the shelves I really need to finally get them all entered into a data base....I think that may be my "deployment project"...we'll see....there are so many good ones lining up.

If you ever get all of your books recorded into a database you can come and do mine (LOL)! I finally gave up that idea and settled for organizing them according to my TOG timeline, and by shelf for all other subjects that don't fit TOG. It took so LONG to do that I can't even imagine going back and trying to enter them all in the computer (LOL)...

I feel your pain. We bought Elle a few bras last year to wear under dresses or light colored shirts. But by the end of summer I realized she needed one every day. I bought her some Madenform tank & sport bras. Can you believe some of the bras stores are selling for little girls? Half of them were demi cups with PADDING! Or they were silky or patterned. And these were not in the lingere section, they were in the little girls section next to the ballet attire! I thought I would lose it. Thank God for my child who said, "what's the point? It doesn't cover much." Amen.

So you are organising too! That's what I was doing today. I don't think I would ever get around to recording my books to a database though so can you put me in line after queenbee and you can do mine!

The story about Ariel is cute. We have just gone through that with Hayley too, funny thing is she doesn't seem to be embarressable. She is too matter of fact. I will have to try and embarress the boys about something instead...nah, just kidding.

Now I am going to respond to your comments on my blog on here because I am never sure if people go back and read comments to comments, lol, I know I forget to.

You mentioned not knowing what to do with Zander this year. Seeing as he is only 4 I would say just let him listen in on whatever you read to the big kids or get him a picture book to go along with each TOG topic. With my 7 yo, even last year he still did very little, he just wasn't ready. You sometimes mention K7 I think I'm a firm believer in K7! We really are loving the LLATL blue phonics program but unless he is very ready for his age I think it would be too much for a 4 or 5 yo.

I do not have a "knot" book, the intructions for the sailors knots were included in the Time Travelers curriculum ($24.95 from homeschoolinthewoods). I wrote more about it on my blog today because I think I had you thinking we were tying knots in our language arts program. Altho....it did so happen that knot was one of our spelling words on knot day. It was too funny.

We school year round because I don't have any high schoolers and because I never wanted the kids to place learning into a box, such as we learn Sept.-June between 9 and noon. Also we take days off when that feels right and we do lots on days when that just happens. I don't think you should worry about starting up with so many changes coming soon. It will all work out in the end. Just say no to school year guilt! I do get what you mean when you say you're ready but you're not. Sometimes you are ready for a change, like now my kids were getting a bit bored with our summer routine, but you aren't in a position to start up your new year.

This is getting long, LOL. Yes I am going to add a new square to our history quilt each week. This is the kit we got from oriental trading. It's called a cooperation quilt. We are using fabric markers to decorate the squares. I have always needed to do tangible, touchable hands on things like this for my special guy, Trevor, and hands on has just become a very huge part of our learning over time. Trevor learns and retains if he makes, touches, feels, this is why we make books and so many projects. He simply can't learn in the traditional way and so all my more typical kids who could probably learn any old way get the benefit of big bro's difference.

Last, I like your idea about the sea cretures. I have a book ready to read about weird sea creatures. I didn't think they really were all the product of drunken sailors imaginings but that is what the curriculum gave us a funny example...oh it is christian based just that was one "funny" we picked up and ran with. I think that's it. Sorry it is a long comment but I wanted to make sure to respond to your comments.

Blog comments - what to do with them???? I think I'll make a main entry on that and get suggestions. I emailed Jodi - privately - thanks for the long answers.

Queenbee - I do have a scanner so it won't take forever and it will be NICE to have them all in one data base....

Kristine - I also was shocked at the things they are marketing to 9 and 10 year olds. Goodness.
