Bocce Tournament

Have you ever heard of Bocce? My brother and his family introduced the game to us on our trip to AK a few years ago. It is a fun game that all ages can enjoy together. We've played on the AlCan, and we've played camping in AK, OR and TX. LOL

After the Stock Show we grabbed some lunch at Chick Fil A (of course - great salad). There was an old cowboy staring at us...forever...finally he told me "I didn't know people still had big families these days!" The hilarious thing to us was that it was a "small" day - only 5 of the children were with us as the olders move away from home and work. I bit my tongue and didn't say, "Only 1/2 of us are here today."  I smiled and said something polite. We seemed to have made his day. LOL

Here are a couple of shots. I believe Mike won each round.

Again.... what fun you all seem to be having. Wonder what the man would have thought if he knew 2 of the workers at the place were yours. :):):) One man in our church shared last weekend at a senior thing that he is 1 of 14. Goodness, your family is small.

love/prayers

I have heard of Bocce, but have not played it. We carry a few games like this in our camper...maybe it would be a good addition.

I have to admit to being jealous of all these wonderful outdoor activities that your doing. I am ready for spring!

We LOVE Bocci. My husband bought a set several years back. He CRAVES a flat space so that we could set up a place to play, but we don't have that here right now. But my hubby, who doesn't like to spend money, was more than willing to spend big bucks for a nice PRO Bocci set...and it DOES get used at unit functions!

My dad was born in Italy, and bocce is big in the Italian-American community! He built a bocce court in his backyard, with special black sand and everything! My kids love having bocce tournaments when we go up there to visit in the summers.

Yes, I've played it in France where it's called Boules. I played it in Germany too, but forget what it was called there and I seem to recall it involved a bottle of Schnapps. {g}

We have a set. The kids used to like playing in the garden when they were little.
