You've Destroyed My Rep-u-tation!

Oy vey. In an attempt to save the wet carpet, Jared and I lifted the carpet up so that we could dry it out and the pad beneath. Zander came unglued. Tears. Wailing. "You've destroyed my reputation!" Evidently, it's a terrible thing for a young boy to have "ripped up carpet". ::snort::
Jared taped off part of the room to keep them from walking on it. Zander was determined to get through the barrier. There are no toys over there. There are no clothes over there. WHY does he so desperately need past the taped off area?????? He woke up this a.m. still determined to get past it. It's a boundary.
I asked him, "Zander, WHY do you need over there?"
His answer? "When I come up to a barrier I must bash through it."
It looks like we are going to have to remove the carpet in the room. We are NOT putting new carpet down in the young boys room a year before we sell the house. I'm not sure what I will do - but it will be creative. ::snort:: The smell of mold is wafting through the house.

Sis:

How cute, witty and what a boy...
All boys just have to make it through barriers just to say that they did... :):)

Some mold, especiallyl black mold, is toxic so good thing you are getting it out.

So neat that you most of the time have a little one to keep you days filled with cute sayings and unexpected action. :) :( :)

Are you going to put carpet in just before you want to sell? If so let the kids paint artwork on the floor. :(

Hey D, I'm trying the comment thing again without signing in. Hope this works.
I think your mom has a great idea, if you are going to replace the carpet just before moving. Let them get creative. Just make sure they understand that is the only surface in your home they can do that on. LOL
Jesse has always had that same problem with barriers. (I remember one christmas that we taped up our stairs just before going to bed. He couldn't contain himself & "broke through" in the middle of the night.) However, maybe we can all say that to some extent. I think it is human nature to want what is just beyond our reach. We are a curious lot! ;)

Our Jesus does a great job getting through barriers! Zander reflects Him...Wonder what works the Lord has in store for your son's future? Sensitive, strong and stubborn; usuable qualities for God's good work, though challenging for us to shepherd.:)

We serve a mighty God and He's given mighty children. "Whoever receives one child like this in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me does not receive Me, but Him who sent Me." Mark 9:37

Zander is so cute! But, if he needs to "bash through" all barriers, you could be in for a long run with that boy. LOL

Yeah - that bashing barrier thing can be good or bad, can't it? Thanks, Darshia for helping me see the good side. I try hard to find the strength side of each weakness....because usually, with prayer, fasting, training, mentoring each "fault" can be a "strength".

Heather - you can comment! Yippee!

Darshia - yeah, I'm having trouble with the smell and I feel tired, sick but I felt cruddy on Monday BEFORE the carpet thing....it's just the cold is feeling better....less coughing....headache....think its the mold.
