Bre called and had the entire Master’s Commission sing Happy Birthday to Nolan. He was thrilled. Unfortunately, when they called back we told them we’d call as soon as we were done opening gifts…and we couldn’t. They’d called with a pre-paid plan and we couldn’t reach them with the number. We’re sad – ok – I’m sad. {sigh}
Some pictures from the evening’s festivities! Ah – looking at these pictures I realized we forgot the Pig Hat for the first time in years….bummer!!!! Maybe they can take turns with him on Saturday. {g}
We’ll have the big cake on Saturday. The boys opted for cookies and ice cream tonight. HOWEVER….enough singing already…let’s get on with the eating part!
Trick Candles….
Our miners – yes, I realize Zander is without clothes in many of these pictures. I figure when it is nearing 70* outside it just isn’t worth the fight. Those from AK will be happy to know that he no longer takes his clothes off at chapel…or the commissary…. Thanks Cynthia for the suggestion of these lights!
Nolan gets a glimpse of his Radio control JEEP.
Zander did remarkably well watching Nolan with the Jeep. He opened his big gift and it was a bike helmet. He said, “What do you know – one of THESE!” He didn’t understand the significance of the gift. When he saw the bike…wow. Mike teased him and said something to the effect of “What do you think of my new bike, Alex?” Zander came right back with, “Actually Dad, It’s MINE!” {g}
It really is like Christmas around here….Zander ends the birthday celebration the same way he ended Christmas…playing with the *BOX*!

I'm glad to hear everyone is starting to feel better, except Stacia poor baby. It sounds like you all had a good birthday evening and it's wonderful that Mike was able to come. What does ORI stand for by the way, I've been racking my brain...
Jen
What a great birthday! I hope you can get those pics to unload.
My youngest didn't like clothes at that age. One day while Doug was working (He's always working at these crazy times), I had a couple friends over. One has boys like mine and one had a little baby girl, her first.
So J and I come running down to tell me A (3 at the time) has stripped naked, standing on a toddler table in front of the window, and is doing Elvis type gyrations for all the neighbor kids standing in the yard!!!!!!! Ahhh, I'm glad now that he is 11 he's learned to keep his clothes on LOL.
ORI - Hmmm....another famous USAF acronym....I think it's Operational Readiness Inspection. Every two years all bases go through these. I think they are good because they serve to keep a base from becoming sloppy...but they take an inordinate amount of time away from the "mission". Mike has been working until 10 or 11 p.m. for weeks....work day begins at 7 a.m.
Ah - so Kelly - he will outgrow this? I joke that he is my little table top dancer. Yes...he loves to show off.....No - he's not interested in potty training and he must get interested somehow - soon. Going to try to upload pictures.
De'Etta, he can't be your first "stripper" lol. I can't remember how old he is. I always told myself they woulnd't be wearing diapers to high school LOL.
I think he's the most devoted stripper I've had and he is certainly the latest to potty train. He's four and shows no interest at all. I'm striving to create an interest at this point.
I'm glad you liked the head lamps. Our boys LOVE them. Your birthday looks like our Christmas with the head lamps and RC JEEP! We bought our boys the exact same things (LOL)!
CB
This IS funny CB. I'd forgotten that you got a RC Jeep. I DID think of you when we bought the JEEP. Nolan wanted a "remote" car and Mike wanted "no more little toys". When I saw this I thought "this is IT" because I had no clue what to get Nolan. The bike for Zander was an easy, no-brainer choice. They also got some boomerangs and cool airobe (not sure how to spell that) discs from the kids. They are frisbys that are hollow in the middle....
