Irony...

is spending hours for two weeks putting a spread sheet together that compares prices at Shop Natural, Wholesome Foods, Commissary, Walmart & Sam's.....only to find that THIS week....

The commissary raised it's prices.

Shop Natural won't deliver to TX any more.

Irony! Brings home this verse, “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?” Matt 6:25.

I will continue to try to be a good steward of the grocery dollars we have - but I will not obsess over this.....

THANKS. I was recently fretting over the fact that I haven't taken the time to do any spreadsheet comparisons lately and was thinking I should try to find time to do that. Still haven't found any time and was still thinking I should try to see where we could save $$.. Anyway.. bottom line is I just don't have time. We're doing good to HAVE food to eat (LOL). If I see something on sale I buy it. If I think something is too much, I wait.. yada yada. Thanks! I needed permission to not worry about a spreadsheet today when I have a long to do list (LOL)!

Such moments happen don't they?
I'm smiling as I think of the hour I spent yesterday folding & cutting papers for 25 pop-up books for my son's 2nd grade class. When I went to glue them together, I found I'd cut all the tabs on the pop-up part off, so had to start over again. {g} I am pleased I figured out my mistake and now know how to do pop-up pages. May I never be too old to learn!

Laughing relieves my stress and life goes on.

Ironic it is. But doesn't it make you belly laugh at how God takes those time consuming planning things we put on ourselves and makes them all not worth it? He TOLD us not to worry. We do it anyway, then he just rips the satisfaction we feel right out from under us. heheheh This seems to happen to me all the time. I bet your spreadsheets look great though!

A bit "De'etta" ::snort:: right here. God does this to me all the time. I've been convicted about eating out so much and I've gotten food poisoning twice this last month from eating out....just *Me* no one else in the family! Ok, I get the message! LOL

LOL - I've been thinking about this today as I go about my other chores. I wasn't really worried at all about the comparison. It was more trying to be sure I was doing the best I could....Dave Ramsey is our best friend and IF I could spend less on groceries I could take the $ from that envelope and move it elsewhere. So it wasn't worried - but I certainly did spend more time on it than I would have if I'd known all the variables were going to change. ::snort::

To me it's more of a "quit trying to save more and more and more" - do the best you can. Maybe He'll just bring the deals to ME. LOL

I used to worry about overspending every single week while food shopping. My dh would get stressed out so much and ask me right away how much I spent.
After several months of comparing and shopping around the Lord just gave me a peace and told me to do the best I can and leave the rest up to Him. He has met ALL our needs and then some.
