Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket "Just say NO! - How?"

How do you say no to darling Boy Scouts on your step? Or Girl Scouts? Even when you KNOW you don't eat this stuff any longer....it's just impossible. I said yes.....and I knew it was a splurge and more money than I would spend on popcorn.....but I thought I was getting those big tins you see in the store....

You can't tell in the photo but these babies are about 1/2 the size of the ones in the store - and were $18 each. I must learn how to say no - I really must. Mike made me quit answering the phone at night because here in TX it seems that all sorts of charities call and I was giving to each one of them....I couldn't say no....how do you tell the narcotic officers no?

HI:

Not easy to say no......... you take after Dad. :):):) He has made a couple of interesting purchases while at home and not working. OH! WELL! We'll use the stuff all up someday.

We are being hit with all kinds of groups (sports, scouts and etc) having fund raisers......... it is hard to say no. Especially I have a hard time when one spunky 4'8" 70lb wrestler has something to sell. He got me today! :):)

I don't say no. I've learned to say, "I'm not intersted but THANK YOU for calling!" and then I hang up. I'm cheerful-not rude but I don't hang on long enough to be talked into anything. I'd love to support alot of them but just can't afford it....

We HAD to buy some being parents of scouts. It was hard to pay so much for popcorn! I got some of the plain kernels to pop on the stovetop and that's not too bad but it's nothing special for a lot of money. LOL

Usually my dh is the harder one. One Sunday, he came up to me and said, "Honey do you have the checkbook?" I said, "Yes it is in my purse." I asked why he needed it at church and he said that one of our boys in our church asked him to buy popcorn for boy scouts and he couldn't say no. I asked how much it was and he said $28! (for two containers). We got them today and needless to say I was disappointed about the size for the $$. I could buy $3 of crunch n much for that much, lol. Anyway the boy at church was thrilled, but don't know if we will do that again. We know where you are coming from.
