Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Christmas Clean-up

I couldn’t take it a minute longer. I suggested several times throughout Christmas afternoon that we take the tree down. They thought I was joking. The walls were closing in.

We always leave the decorations up until New Year's Day or later. We have a LOT of people here. I was claustrophobic. I had an idea for arranging the furniture.....In the evening, while some played yet another round of Monopoly, Mike, Krista, Stacia and I took the tree apart.

When we moved in I wanted "intimate seating arrangements" in the living room and made an L of the couches. NOW, I realize that in a house this size, with a large family there are "intimate seating areas" all over the home. I want SPACE in the living room - the barn effect. I now have the couches on OPPOSITE sides of the room - lots of floor space.

We dusted and vacuumed every corner of the room - move all furniture and year round trees etc.

Mike hung my new sign and re-hung the quilt above the opposite couch as he noted I'd used "12 inch spikes" to hang it. ::snort::

It was good we did this on Tuesday night....because Wednesday we needed ALL the space in the living room for the annual ginormous family photo shoot. Entry to follow.

Clausterphobia definitely plays a key role in why we take our tree down the day after Christmas. The house just feels so open and fresh when we take it down.

De'Etta...I like the verse that runs at the bottom of my screen. How did you do that? I want to do the same thing with 1 Cor. 13:13.

We're still recovering from the stomach flu. I'm in bed today and thankful for my son's laptop. : )

I'd love to take my tree down! Usually we leave it up until New Year's Day. But putting it up so early this year (thanksgiving was SO early!) makes me ready to have it down now!

I don't have the energy though, so it will wait until the weekend when Doug is home :) The boys and I want to be lazy today! I'm still wearing my jammies and have no plans to get out of them LOL.......

I also have to admit to feeling like the tree is taking up way too much room in our small living room. Or I should say that the living room isn't terribly small it is just being used for way too many things right now...piano room, computer room, living room, play room! Ugh...we need a bigger house!

We really like to leave the tree up awhile because we like to have the little lights on at night, but I am getting tired of the gift mess all around... new toys everywhere and STUFF! We've put most of the downstairs rooms back together now and we've done LAUNDRY!

I don't care when the tree comes down. I want your crew to come over! My living room looks like a tornado went through. Audrey and I did tackle her room today. Tomorrow is the boys room then all the 'stuff' in the living room is out of there! Tree and decs will come down after the 1st. I'd say after kids go back to school but, that isn't until the 7th! Nope, can't make it that long.
The pictures are terrific. What an awesome family.

LOL - I LOVE the lights up - but I needed to feel SPACE...and I'm glad we rearranged the living room when we did - so we can enjoy the extra floor space while our guests are all here.

I do have a few small trees with lights that stay up year round in a corner of the room - so I still have lights. LOL

Wow! You go girl! I know how you feel. When it is my year to have Christmas at our house we are jam packed with people. As soon as we open presents on Christmas Day I am so ready to get everything back to normal but it usually has to wait until everyone goes home which is usually after the 1st. This year . . since we are gone . .I have only the tree to put away when we get home. Ahhhhhhhh . . . nice and easy clean up :-)

We're feeling really cramped this year too. We MOVED the tree today, and all the rest of the decorations are GONE. I'm putting the ornaments away tomorrow, several days earlier than usual. :)
