Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Displaying Christmas Cards

How do you display Christmas cards? I'd love to hear your ideas....be sure to post a link if you have a photo somewhere of what you do?

I'm thinking I could do something where the Thankful Tree is currently hung...but I'm not sure what!

For the last several years I've been putting my cards in this metal thing that is shaped like a wreath and hangs on the door. But I'm tired of it, and looking for ideas too!

My grandmother used to slide her cards through the slats of her louvered door. I think that's a great idea, but I don't have any doors like that. lol...

The only other idea I have heard of is to somehow pin the cards to a length of ribbon. I've never seen a picture of it, so I'm not sure how that would work.

I've taped them to a pantry door. I've also taped them to the edge of my island counter in the kitchen. Oh, and I taped them to the window in our breakfast nook last year. I always start in the middle of whatever the surface is and add more as they arrive.

De'Etta, we've displayed them in several different ways....placed them on a ribbon and draped the ribbon like a garland. I've taped them to a closet door, I've had a card holder that I found at a thrift store but the cards kept falling out every time the door was opened/closed. Many years ago Wayne bought a nativity *basket* (made of resins). Now we place the cards in the basket. Each evening, as part of our advent devotions (wreath, calendar & jesse tree) we take the card out, read it and say a prayer for the family who sent it.

I just saw an idea in a magazine that I am looking to try. They hung grids of pretty ribbon on a blank door, then taped cards to the ribbon. It suggests you can also string ribbons over the doorway or a window. In years past I have used simple twine to create a star on a wall, then attach the cards to that. That is no longer working as the more military moves we make, more cards come in and go out. No complaints, it is a blessing to be remembered, but I need a new way to display.

Kristine - please send me your address - evidently when Mike got outlook working it synched to my pda and lost all my addresses in the PDA - it will be a slim Christmas this year. LOL

Ladies, I'm trying to figure out what to do with one wall.....something with ribbon, garland or something may work.

We have usually put them in a basket and drawn out a family a day to pray for throughout the year.....

Maybe you all could adopt this practice, grab a post it note, write our names on it and pray for us. LOL
