Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket TIS THE SEASON (Glimpse of this Chaplain family's life)

SHEW....I'll update more later - but quickly...since the last time I've written I've been PARTYING! Who BOY! I've spent the last 3 nights in dress, hose, and heels...and that is NOT my favorite attire. ::snort:: In the past three days, TWICE I've needed to be at TWO places at one time....all places I SHOULD have been. We've had produce co-op, ushered (and thus attended free) the local showing of The Nutcracker, watched Jared be promoted, had doctor appointments, gone Christmas shopping, made Christmas giveaways.... Tis the Season.

Today I attended 3 parties. I'm thrilled to say that not ONE Santa has done a table dance this season! Yes, I've had it easy the last two years. The last squadron Christmas party I went to three years ago, featured a Santa who did a table top dance at the head table....to rather rowdy music....and he seemed to have trouble keeping his winter suit and such on ....and well I haven't been to another party like it - ever! C'mon - I grew up in a missionary's home...attended a Baptist Boarding School in Manila, this was totally out of my "box". Mike says it won't happen at this base - that you need an ops base for those sorts of things. Our first year here I had a very tiny newborn and was not expected to attend parties with Mike. Our second Christmas here Mike was deployed...and there was the silver lining in that hard season - it WAS much more relaxed! ::snort::

This year - I'm being the good sport. I've attended a wonderful chapel Women's tea today, a Masquerade ball with the Med Group, and a great Christmas Party with the Wing Staff....and not one rowdy Santa.....Life is good.

LOL...what an interesting image that one is!

Glad all your parties have been mild and pleasant.

Blimey! I don't think I've ever encountered a rowdy Santa either! You must just be lucky, I guess! LOL!

BTW, I hope you changed the dress and hose during those three days.:snort:

I know what you mean about having to dress up. On Friday we went to the Garrison Christmas reception. Even though Scott does not work for the garrison, the Senior Staff from the GCMC were invited and Scott is part of that. I was SO glad to get out of house when I got home.... but thankfully the food was good and I found nice folks with which to chat.
Santa dancing on the table? Guess the Army is more restrained; haven't encountered that in our 16+ yrs of active duty

You have been busy! I don't think I'd like all of that dressing up either. I've gotten pretty used to "casual" these days... we're busy as well, but different busy... year end bookwork, basketball every day or not, choir, etc. I don't think I have a single Christmas party to attend this year.

Sis:

You know how sorry I am that you had to get all dressed up. Believe me the days I get dressed up fancy are few and far between anymore. :)

Now that Santa guy sounds like he was a bit.......... :):) how funny and crazy./

12 1/2 years and only one rowdy Santa.....I doubt that particular person was planning another Christmas party.

Mike said, "You need an ops base for those sort of things." ROFL Oh my goodness!! Well, to be honest, I think it's more like you need to be at a fighter base for those kind of things ~ I've never seen a table dancing Santa at an Airlift Christmas party!!! But, we do have the really cool option of bringing Santa in from the North Pole, sleigh and all, on a C-130 ~ can't do that in most fighters! ;)

Well - Trish the dancing Santa was from an intel squadron.....though most assume it was a fighter squadron. ::snort::
