They're Home!

Photobucket Mike and Jamin got home while Nolan and I were at speech therapy.
We had "one errand" to run. We had ordered an ice cream cake from Coldstone. It was supposed to look like a book and have "The King of the Reid" on it. We ran to Coldstone and they brought out a cake that didn't look like a book and said "King's Rides". Huh???? They asked me to give them 30 min to get it right.

Nolan and I took my Ephesians study book to Kinkos. I like to have the binding snipped and three hole punch them. Then I can add in any word studies, extra info, etc as I go along.

We still had time. We went to Butterfly Life and inquired about their program. Has anyone used their program before? They have the whole circuit thing, cardio classes, nutrition and fashion classes.....contracts....I don't know. It is certainly closer than the base, but I CAN do weights in my garage and videos in my bedroom, and I can use the elliptical at the base....for free...no contracts. They do offer a one-week pass....anyone local want to do it together for a week? ::snort:: I doubt that this is for me, BUT I WANT IT TO BE FOR ME. LOL

The cake was ready, finally. I had planned a nice dinner for Jamin - but he wanted CHINESE TAKE OUT. He said he was tired of 5 - star cuisine. ::snort:: The conference was at the Broadmoor. We spent the afternoon hearing stories, laughing, catching up.....then had our Chinese and then...the surprise.

Doesn't look a lot like a book does it? ::snort:: Ah well, it was sweet and a surprise.

Must be the night for Chinese take out.... we had the same!! :)

Bummer about the ice cream cake. But we have eaten at Coldstone Creamery while visiting family in OK and LOVED it. Hopefully it at least tasted good?

I'm sure you're glad to have Mike and Jamin home.

Butterfly! I have seen this place and wondered about it. I would be willing to give it a week try. When might be good for you? Mornings 9a-12n work best for me. Thursday mornings I have Bible Study.
I'm glad the guys are home. I'll pray one of the publishers pick him up.
My friend Janette Oke is with Bethany House. She has been with them forever I think they are good.

Sis:

Hey, I'll try the place for a week with you. :):)

Bet Mike's B-Day icecream cake is better tasting.

A lovely way to celebrate their trip!

My sister and I visited the Broadmoor many years ago. Holly was 1. The only place we were brave enough to eat was a little outdoor cafe. Even though we lived there for 5 years, we never ate there!

De'Etta - what a thoughtful thing to do as a welcome home party. I think so many times we celebrate the going and all the build up that is involved in that aspect of things and then neglect the homecoming.

You have a lovely family and I LOVE hearing about how you encourage your children to dream big.

I meant to comment on that earlier. Excellent post on supporting, encouraging and also placing their dreams back into their own hands.

Definitely Mom of the Year!! :)

We LOVE Coldstone! I've never had a cake from there, though.

I'm sure the taste is what was really important!
