A Day Simply Gone

 TUESDAY -

Yes, I missed Monday - but I'll post about it tomorrow - that would be Wednesday. ::snort::

I'm not sure what happened to my day - it is just gone! I DID workout - that counts.

Nolan and I went on a Lent hunt....oy vey. The Easter stuff is now out at the Family Christian Store, and it wasn't what we were looking for. We ran to the local Catholic store. They'd NEVER heard of a Lenten Wreath or a cross we could put candles in....We ARE enjoying the Family Journey book, Michelle.

I ordered a kit to make a Jesus Tree - I'll write more about it later.

We went to Hobby Lobby. We're going to make a Lent Wreath, and I'll post links and photos and all tomorrow - AFTER we do it...IF we can find all the pieces we need....and hey...if they waved some sort of exotic fern on our wreath - so be it. I have to go find some thorns and a suitable nail...and now I realized that I'm not sure I have a hot glue gun....so that's how the day went....it just went.

I did make wonderful homemade hamburger buns, and we had some of our SAFE hamburger....which I know was wonderful because all TOLD me so and there was none left when I got home from Bible Study. ::snort:: That's really about all I accomplished today - like I said the day is simply gone.....

De'Etta, I'm so glad you're enjoying the book. Hey! for the Lenten cross or crown of thorns check ebay. They had a really neat looking one done on a cross that looks like it was made from nails. I can't wait to see photos of your Lenten wreath.

I too saw the cross candle holder on e-bay. I didn't go ahead and get it because Tom has me on e-bay probation...... I look forward to seeing what you find for your wreath. I have the wreath and some black ribbon, that's about it. Since we are behind the times and hadn't heard of Benjamin's box I got the book and Resurrection eggs this past weekend.
I am leading the Adult Education class tonight at church. I plan to take some info to them and find out whatelse they might know.
Sorry Pat wasn't any help at Trudos. I will take her my wreath and stuff when I get it done, so then she'll know.
xoxo Amy

LOL Amy - the women were VERY nice - they just didn't know what I was talking about...and we did look a bit LOST - let's face it there are a lot of similarities between Protestant and Catholic but there are differences. We were a bit "awe struck". LOL She told me they had advent wreaths - I'm guessing I didn't explain what I was thinking....I'd seen a crown of thorns with candles and thought that would work well for us.....I'll check ebaby. They tried to help me in a much sweeter manner than the other store. ::Snort:: THERE they thought I was just a bit nuts, of course they had young girls in there and so I know they were really confused at what I was looking for.

BTW is purple the color I would want for candles?

De'Etta, 5 purple candles and 1 pink candle. If you decide to celebrate Easter, we use 6 white candles.

Michelle - Easter as in the church calendar from Easter Sunday to Pentecost? Can you tell I was not raised high church? ::snort::

I'm not sure what we're doing about that....we are celebrating Passover on 19/20 April....and then I think that we celebrate Feast of Pentecost in there somewhere....and I'm really not sure about the Unleavened Bread - I'm still studying the Spring Biblical feasts to see what they illustrate for the kids and what we can add in......

De'Etta, yes Easter Sunday to Pentecost. :) I wasn't raised in high church either. :) I didn't even know there were 50 days of Easter until I became a Catholic. Keep us posted on the Biblical feast book. It sounds interesting. I'd love to hear more about it. (hint, hint)

Michelle - I'll post a review....I'm sort of swamped at the moment with Lent/Princess/Biblical Holiday books. LOL
