Moms of Many Exercise Challenge Weekly Fitness Goals (click button for more info)

Weekly Goal - 240 Minutes (40 minutes most days)
Total Weekly Minutes - 295 Minutes
Annual Goal - 11,700 minutes (2900 by end of March)
Minutes to Date - 3,557 minutes

Monday - 50 Minutes (Leslie Sanson'es 4 Fast Miles)

Tuesday - 95 Minutes (65 min recumbent bike, 30 min elliptical)

Thursday - 115 Minutes (recumbant bike - got caught up in coverage of FLDS)

Sunday - 35 Minutes (walk with 4 younger ones)

I'm not happy with LIFE on this new schedule and I need to figure something out. Now - if this routine was resulting in weight loss, maybe I would feel that it was worth the stress to our school schedule. LOL I KNOW that I need INTENSE workouts most days of the week and the 4 fast miles is not as intense as the elliptical for the same amount of time.....but I can't always spend the 2+ hours it takes to drive to the gym, work out and come home. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Something.

how do you do it?! I mean, how do you spend that much time on the bike or elliptical?

If only I could crochet while doing that ... hmm .. maybe if I had a bike instead of the elliptical.

I KNEW I should have just bought a bike! .. reading would have been easier too. :P

LOL Alicia, elliptical - well I have been doing 4 fast miles for quite a while and I think that conditioned me for a longer workout.....I tend to go slower and up the resistance on the elliiptical these days.

Bike - I don't have TV at home and twice last week got sucked into a program that needed watching.....One on the FLDS and one called Nanny 911. ::snort::

I have been struggling with getting my workout in as well. During this season of life its been very hectic. I am not eating properly and working out seems like a thing of the past. Now that our house is going on the market maybe I can fit in my exercise.

Is it time to think about planning for the purchase of an eliptical for home?

Our treadmill is wearing out and we're considering an eliptical to replace it. Time to research.

You are making an excellent investment in current and future heart health...Sorry the weight isn't coming down...

I just don't know, Darshia. The weight thing is always a concern with our size of family and military moves. Best for gyms would be to live on base again. LOL

The treadmill we had bought years ago ended up being a disappointment...if I buy a machine I want LIFE FITNESS or quality because I don't like the machines to squeak, shake, and rattle while I work out. ::snort::

No doubt that a home gym would be cheaper in the long run than an extra $80 for gas every two weeks. It's the $1 per pound over our weight that would be the problem. We bought a hutch and bedroom furniture and two recliners and a new freezer since moving here. Oy vey. LOL

Hey De'Etta!

I say invest in a good 20 dollar workout video. Most videos these days have more than one workout included and you can do them at night when the kids go to bed. :-)
