Today's News

We heard today that all our exception requests for housing have been turned down...we won't be allowed to live in CGO housing, we aren't allowed to sign to accept a 4 bdr house, they won't give us two units.... We've been in TLF a month and are hoping to be extended while we continue to look for an off base house. At this point we are finding lots of agents who are building homes but nothing ready NOW..... I WISH they had simply said all this when we called in May, rather than encouage us to put in pointless exceptions which ate up our TLF time waiting for responses.

We still believe that God is preparing or has prepared a place for us to live while we are assigned to Misawa. Please pray that our time is extended in the the TLF and that we find the spot where God would have us live.

The funny thing is I'm no longer discouraged about this. It is getting funny again....in a spiritual warfare sort of way. Honestly, I believe God is going to do good things in us, for us and through us in Japan.

In more EXCITING NEWS - we had our PWOC WILD (Protestant Women of the chapel - Women Intent on Leadership Development) today! We had TWENTY-TWO women attend...and it was only advertised on Sunday. YES.....and we had 39 children! Mike and a host of youth watched the kids....What hearts of service. How can I be depressed with such great things going on around me?

Continuing prayer. Confused by their restrictions.

Such exciting WILD news!! I have met the Hall family through blogging; have you met her yet. Can't remember the first name....sigh. Also, the Coys. Julie was a trainer one year that I did that, and I saw her again at Faithlift. Would LOVE to get stories and photos (with ladies' permissions, of course) for the Pacific page of the site. Japan and Korea are getting ready to launch out as Asia Region, and this would be a great promo!! {hugs} Anybody there ready for regional leadership in the new region?

Praying, De'Etta. God is strengthening you and yours. He will do great things for and through you!

Unbelievable.

Sadly, this is simply the way it works. They will cram you into a TINY TLF but then not allow you the housing. We have been there several times. There is discrimination and non-accommodation for large families! We have come to realize that it is simply our responsibility to provide the housing for our family and not rely upon the government.
God will provide a home for you! He is faithful and will provide for your needs.

Sis:

Praying yet! Wonder if they are considering the 3 in the States under the age limit when trying to find you housing?

It is funny in a stupid way. BUT to laugh at the situation is great.

We too, feel and KNOW God is going to use you two and that is why the devil is putting up such a fight. Isn't the devil rather dumb at times. IN the END GOD always has HIS way. We are looking forward (not as much as you all) to seeing just where your new home is.

PTL for the great turn out of the 'PWOC WILD' and PTL for those who took care of the 39 children. WOW!

Glad your are no longer discouraged. We all love you and are praying.

the unofficial legal advice I solicited for you says "Call the local IG"........ there is NO good reason they can't give you a 4br, there is no good reason they can't let you live in vacant CGO quarters....
contacting the IG is not complaining, it's making the AF do what they are supposed to do in the first place

Glad you got some new encouragement, and a refreshed sense of humor... or, anyway, an appreciation for the truly absurd.

Prayers still with you,

Julie

Sending you a HUGE cardboard box with a sign that reads: "There's no place like home."

Very confused by what all this means for you and your housing situation, but continuing to pray that God has, as always, worked it all out ahead of time.

Mel - you may mean Lisa Hall and I think I met her yesterday. Julie Coy has pcsd. Melissa says that there have been quite a few packages submitted for regional leadership. ::snort::

Oh....Mel...I was so focused on all that was going on to pull WILD off on the spur of the moment that I FORGOT to take photos! ::snort:: I think I have a sushi eating photo of Melissa...maybe. LOL

Renee....we showed them the regs that say we CAN accept a 4 bdr...and they come back with there is no FGO housing available. We show them all the vacant CGO housing and the regs allow them to leave them if they project they'll be filled in 90 days.

We are fighting a new fight today. I am writing it all up for them and submitting it somewhere when this is over because it is NOT right...and there are 2 other families going through this NOW in TLF....This is taking care of "regs", not taking care of PEOPLE.
