Mondays Happen in CA Too!

We woke to dark day. It perplexed us. It LOOKED overcast, grey, sort of cloudy.....but it was HOT. Triple digits. It had been grey the day before come to think of it..... Yep - Swede Wildfire - 20 miles north of Beale. I guess we'll quit tracking earthquakes and begin tracking wildfires.

Another day of sorting through boxes, flattening boxes, crunching paper and hanging things on walls.....

The smoke alarm kept going off...nothing was ON....the dog was howling...and Zander commented, "It's because Me and Nolan are working so hard we're smoking."

I MUST lay things out to see how I want them on a wall...Yuuki thought all the wall quilts were for her benefit.

I love finding the kids in the nook in our room looking over the "lost years."

Tonight was LIFT (Ladies In Fellowship Together) at the chapel. This was the kick-off to the PWOC ministry year. It looks to be a great group of women.  I have many thoughts which I may or may not share - later. ::snort::  I'm struggling...but I know where the answer lies.

"lost" years? Are these albums you didn't take with you or something?

Cindy,

I may have forgotten to mention it on the blog. We have been missing all the albums from 1965-1985. We assumed they'd been in the van and stolen. As I unpacked boxes I found one marked "Photo albums" in a box from TX (but it had just come from Japan). It was those lost albums. Seems it was put in with the school books....we put one year out and kept two years stored at all times....so it just was sitting in our closet for four years with the school books we weren't using. We'd checked high and low, unpacked EVERY BOX - but somehow this one. LOL

My overwhelming thought is, "I miss carpet" :)

And all the pictures make me remember how much your house was always a home...all warm and fuzzy-ish. Love that the boys were smoking from their hard work...so cute.

Stephanie, I am finding I don't really like carpet. We CRINGE when people tromp in with their SHOES on....ACK....so much easier to clean other types of flooring...and this is new carpet. I'm making people psychotic when they come to my door. ::snort::

Ah - thanks for the kind words about our home..this will be home too...won't it? Just doesn't feel like it right out the gate.
