Summer Clean UP Challenge Update....

Lisa is hosting a summer clean up challenge. This has been the perfect challenge for me. I had plan to organize some trouble spots this summer and her challenge makes me smile while I work.
I finished the filing...though I've decided to turn another drawer used for storage into a school file and will need to get that set up this week. I DO believe I filed Deja's Baby Shower card somewhere in all this.....

I hadn't planned on it, but today I tackled Arielle's room. Since our trip Stacia has taken to sleeping with Arielle - they share a bed in the trailer. She no longer wants me to rock her to sleep ::gasp::, she wants to cuddle with Arielle.....but this is crowded. I was thinking last night at 3 a.m. that maybe we should look for a double bed for Arielle's room. This a.m. I walked in and remembered that her bed is a trundle bed. We pulled the trundle out.....and then put away all the stuff that was under the bed.....Oy VEY!
We made the beds and pushed them together....a nice big bed for sleeping....Arielle wasn't so sure at first, but now she's liking it. We took the toddler bed down. The boys put it in the attic. Arielle and I hung some butterflies and a "doll" on the wall that Mom had given her. Most are from the Philippines. There was one butterfly from her Great Grandmother's. I had painted her walls when we moved in to look like the sky...the border has flowers and butterflies....
This doll's body makes into a skirt - I got a kick out of the baseball hats on it. LOL

I really need this challenge to continue another month....I still haven't gotten to the school closet...but Mike commented tonight that he can tell I've been cleaning....::Snort:: The problem is that I'm woefully behind on the reading challenge.....

Well, you can't clean and read. But you'll feel better about reading when your house is clean and organized :)

Stacia is growing up! It happens so fast, doesn't it? Jordan started his first job today. I need to blog that. Maybe tomorrow. It was bitter-sweet. I am proud of him but can't believe he is that old!

I posted a new picture of Doug and the boys on my blog and compared it to last year's picture. Jordan and Isaac have grown and matured so much! It just amazes me what 14 months can do!

De'Etta . . .I love to clean and organize. I usually go through the entire house twice a year. I wasn't able to get around to it this past spring so it will probably be August and September before I can get through the whole thing. Being gone so much this summer . . .our home has become slightly disorganized and it's driving me nuts :-) Seeing your pictures have inspired me to get up and get things cleaned up.

Also, since Jordan has now moved to Missouri for school . . .we are going to move the kids around so we will be doing that next week when the rest of the crew is at home!

Great job on your cleaning projects! The girls room looks so cute. Bessie loves butterflies.

My cleaning project was by far the hardest in the house...our room and it is taking me a long time to get it done...throw in that I needed to do the scrapbook challenge done first as all my scrapbook stuff is in our room and I have been slogging through it all. I'm beginning to see an end in sight! I'm sure I never would have stuck with it or at least not worked so hard on it or done as good a job if it hadn't been for the challenge.

So THAT'S why I received such a 'homey' card with my shower gift ;-) Ellie was looking at the cards after the shower and exclaimed, "What's this? Who put a food label with the cards?!" tee hee. It was really good to see you and Arielle there.

Meant to make a connection for you...not sure if you noticed the other preg woman there, sitting by me. Her husband is John, who does the HoF thursday program. She's expecting twins! See you Friday.

I like what you've done with the room! The Challenge has even gotten my son into the cleaning mode.LOL I'm noticing that a lot of the participants are asking for another month. I may be tempted to either extend or do another one for the month of August if there's an interest. Although I may just send out a prize for the first month no matter what.LOL

LOL - I love to walk into Arielle's room and see the butterfly I remember from MY grandma's house....and the butterflies that HER grandma brought back from the Philippines....cool stuff.

Deja - thanks for the connection....yeah - I was running late and so grabbed some of my homemade scrap paper and wrote a note. ::snort:: You know I think you are a friend when you get a gift with a scrap paper card OR a gift with walmart bags instead of tissue paper. LOL

It's hard to keep up on all of the challenges (LOL)! I'm way ahead on my reading challenge goals, but terribly far behind on my own scrapbooking challenge (LOL)! Now I've read far enough back to answer my bed question from above.

Love the butterflies!
