Gingerbread GaloreMom, correct me if my memory is failing. I don't ever remember making Gingerbread houses or men. I don't think it was a big deal in Liberia or Mindanao. ::snort::
I have a friend who used to make nativity scenes out of gingerbread each year. I was impressed. We tried a few simple houses a couple of yars. They looked like they had survived earthquakes.
A couple of years ago I discovered Wilton kits. These we can do.
While the older ones worked on the house, I gave Stacia a Gingerbread man to decorate.
She tired of that!
Then she tasted the gingerbread and said, "YUCK"
Note that she IS clothed today!

We had never made a gingerbread anything until last year when we made the big long train (LOL)! My mom still has it up in her kitchen.
only tried to make gingerbread stuff once with you kids when you were small. Did not like the taste, did not like the mess and the fact that those things fall apart so easy. Would be surprised if you remembered at all.

We did Gingerbread this year but the kids were all in agreement about the graham cracker houses being better AND easier. So, we'll go back to that next year.

De'Etta, I think Wilton makes the gingerbread nativity kit. I do remembering seeing a gingerbread nativity kit at Michael's and maybe even A.C. Moore.
Oh wow - a KIT. Brenda always drew patterns, baked for days etc. I'll check online.
Um...De'Etta...those ARE organic candies on those houses...aren't they?! LOL.
Bahumbug, Deja. No one ate those candies - they could have broken a tooth or something. LOL
