We KNOW Where We're Moving.....

If you have been notified by us as to our location (family) - please don't guess. Here are some clues:

It's not OOOOOO K La homa.....

Jared's language study of the last two years will not be helpful.

We will have four seasons.

Our study of marine animals may come in handy.

We have a friend from college who lives 400 miles from our new home.

We will be further from most family but closer to my baby brother and his wife.

Jared wanted snow. De'Etta wanted ocean. All wanted scenery. Mike wanted 4 seasons. All will be happy - I think.

It's 28* today.

I've never met anyone who has homeschooled here.

Mike ASSURES me that I'll have the possibility of internet and email. ::snort::

Ask questions - more clues and maybe a photo or two later.

Okinawa or Japan???

Massachusettes? East Coast?

Renee said...

Cancel Okinawa - it's warmer there today. Other thoughts were Aviano (but it's too warm there now) or maybe Korea (but you know someone who homeschooled there)

My mind is too old for riddles! LOL! When can you REALLY tell?

Hmmmmmm!!! I have no idea! I will be sad that you are leaving here though.

Mmmm, I think Japan too. Or does the Philippines have a US base?

Renee said...

Dorothy, Is there anywhere in the Philippines that has four seasons? I thought it was pretty much spring/summer year round.

How many guesses do I get? *big grin* I'm going to start with the east coast ~ Andrews AFB? McGuire? Langley? another base in the DC area?

Am I anywhere close as far as region goes?

Give us another clue? Pleeeease?

McChord or McGuire?

Linda said...

I've got three guesses - McGuire (NJ), Hanscom (MA), or Langley....of course, Langley doesn't fit in the "you'll have internet and email"...so I'm thinking it's further north.

OK after giving it some more thought I will tell you the first thing that came to mind-I am probably wrong but oh well. I am going to say Ohio! :)

I think you should give us some better clues!LOL

Is it domestic or overseas?

Anonymous said...

Ooooh! You do know how to make it fun...the "possibility of internet and e-mail" makes it seem like a smaller base...I'm blank!

Sounds like New England to me. If it is MA then you are close to me and Jodi. We would love to make a trip down there and show you around.

I think I'm going to go for Massachusetts or anywhere in New England...purely out of selfishness!!! :-)

Rene in MA!!!

Possibility of internet and email is a BIG clue - it's overseas.

I'm going to go with Yokohama.

My parents lived there and loved it.

WOW! Oversea cool! But now I am out of guesses. Maybe you will tell us tonight at PWOC?! :)

Renee said...

And her wonderful Jamin can't keep a secret.... so I know where they're going....

Anonymous said...

My 3 guesses are Korea, Japan, or UK.

Jen in Wa

Still could be MA. Many of us who are older New Englanders think that MA is a foreign country :-)

We are in MA now but still have our SC license plates (can't afford the expensive fees yet to change the registrations back...) and yesterday, when we were driving we were behind a vehicle with CA plates. My 10-year old said, "Look, Mom! They're foreign, too!" LOL!

So, YES, it still could be MA!!!

Well I was going to say McChord but surely you know someone who's homeschooled in WA.... hmmm....

The "possibility" of internet doesn't sound too promising (LOL)! How ever would we survive?

Renee said...

De'Etta will have internet. I had internet in Korea and that was back in 02-04

Can't imagine that it's 28 in Japan. I can't imagine that it's Aviano because you WOULD have internet/email; and I don't know that it's that close to the ocean. You know the other chaplain there, but I don't think he's an old college buddy, I think he's from where you are in TX... (Remember we have good friends at Aviano right now, who are actually heading to Texas in a few months!)

Hmmm. WHERE is your brother?

My gh says Northern Japan held the Winter Olympics, so they get snow.

Since I believe you have a homeschooling friend in England, that rules out your following the M's...

We're checking Germany...you have friends there, do they homeschool too?

My gh isn't sure the AF sends families to Korea...

Greece? or Turkey?

Thanks, De'Etta, this is fun!

I'm going with Japan. Even southern Japan gets snow--just not Okinawa.

And I'm going to second Misawa as the base. Near the water and all...and isn't your brother somewhere in Southeast Asia?

DeEtta @ Courageous Joy said...

You guys are good! I'm working on a post now...and will answer all your questions.

Sis: No problem with internet in Japan. We have had our hotmail address for more than 20 years.... worked ok in the PI's. Japan is more advanced for sure.... especially near a base etc.

Antie Marge will be moving to Manila as soon as she sells her trailer.... helping to start a bible school at the church. She plans to live there 10-15 years and says add that to her 71 and it probably won't matter much where she lives after that long. :):):)

Wish now that Dad/I would have gone to Toyko to work with the OB church there in teaching English as a 2nd language. :):)

NA, It will be good to be near your 3 in Oregon while you are gone.
