A very Full Day

OMW - If I go to the front of the van and STAND up, I can get 4 bars and maybe post and maybe get email...maybe. I've tried to email Heather and Bobbie Jo for the past hour. Ladies....I've not forgotten. Heather - I'll call you after lunch...we need to take photos, why did we say goodbye last night? I should have saved my tears. ::snifft:: (snorting and sniffing)

Yesterday - we made a great banner out of purple duct tape, a garbage bag and a sharpie....see the packers did leave something. LOL We took Arielle to Mr. Gattis. I LOVED having to move 4 tables together again....and having every seat in the van full as we headed for graduation.

Graduation was sweet....and hard. I have photos...a few...the flash wasn't working and the kids used the little Cannon power shot....We're so very proud of Jamin.

Standing on that platform it came home for all of us...we're leaving....and four kids will be Stateside when we leave....Denial came to a screeching halt. Ah...pray for us. Thanks for all in the SACHSA family who have promised to be there should the boys need anything.

I woke up at 5 a.m. today with leaking eyes....but this is fairly common when a child leaves home around here....and this is graduation, leaving home and saying goodbye to many dear friends.

Today is a chapel farewell. Heather is going to take some family photos for us. Bre flies out tomorrow afternoon. I'll upload photos when I can get a strong enough connection to make it to Photobucket.

Choosing Joy! Yep - even in goodbyes.

Sis:

Leaking eyes are OK! I remember that each time we saw you 3 kids off at the Davao, Philippines airport, and as you turned the stairs and we could see you no more I'd cry! Over and over I got lectured by certain other organization missionaries who said, "don't ever let your kids see you cry or that you are sad they are leaving". WELL, nuts to those because loving and being loved involves tears at times and sweet farewell's really do show love. I never did understand just how acting like we were glad to be rid of you kids for a few months was good for you or us???

SO, let the tears be there because that is just part of loving at times.

We are so proud of all of you and can hardly wait to see you up here in Oregon and Washington so we can shed our tears.

Uncle Jim is in Montana at that great big Weber family reunion, he and one lady friend will fly back to Seattle on Monday and he will drive down to be with us 2-3 days on Tuesday. Sherri, Heather, and all their kids have never met Uncle Jim cuz Baton Rouge is so far away.

Dukes funeral Tuesday.

I had to fight back the leaking eyes today at church when I heard several people talking about how they couldn't wait for their kids to leave home. They either haven't experienced one leaving yet or they have and for whatever reason it was a blessing that they left. I, otoh, would have loved to have dd stay home a few more years, but she was ready and it was time. But, still I couldn't picture myself ever wishing the time away....

Praying you through this time of great change.... but remember they are not goodbyes but rather 'see you laters".....

Sis:

Your friend above reminded me that Dad/I never said good-by when coming back to the States or when returning to the Philippines....... we always said things like..... "well, until the next time", "See'ya the next time" etc.....
