Goodbye and Hello

Today we say "goodbye" to Dad Earl and Mom Mary.... This is tough and I've been working hard to find the "beneficial" side of it....remembering that we could also think of it as "God Be With Ye".

Dad Earl made a big speech last night. He said he wanted to be sure to say that I've become a wonderful woman, wife and mother all these years. I was a bit blown away, touched and sad, as I think he's saying those things he wants to be sure to say in case....

Hello - to my folks and the girl's new campus apartmet.

Once again - bittersweet....and once again I'm remembering to CHERISH our memories of times well spent with Mom and Dad G.....Cherish and not Cling.

We're off to say goodbye, then come back and hook up the trailer....do pray for us today. This will be hard for those of us who are old enough to understand long term goodbyes...and especially hard for Michael.

I'm not sure I'll be taking photos - here are a few shots. I've been capturing "sights of home".

Each time we moved to Hawai'i we were sure to tell those we loved (especially my grandparents and our parents)how much they had come to mean to us, just in case. Now those conversations provide comfort and happy memories of words that otherwise may never have been spoken.

Continuing my prayers for all of you De'Etta.

I LOVE this background. I just may have to put it on my blog! :) How neat that you get to see the girls' campus apartment. Praying for you, De'Etta.

thinking about the possibility of long term goodbyes is hard. I remember when we went to see Tim's grandma when we knew it was the last time we would see her. It was SO HARD. I remembering crying and asking Tim what do you say to someone when you know it's the last time you'll see them???? Of course, that isn't your situation, but still I understand.

Thanks for the prayers. Actually, Cindy, this may well be the last time we see Mike's father. He is 92...but he may well surprise all...he has a delightful way of doing that.
