Baking Adventures

Baking in Japan is fun. Most often I simply buy ingredients at the commissary. However, when the commissary is closed....or when I'm in a hurry the local market is quicker and always provides a unique experience.

Now how many of these little bags WILL it take to add up to 12 oz of chocolate chips....

Somehow, I think the directions to "add 1/2 a bag of powdered sugar," didn't have this in mind.

Just a hint about the powdered sugar. If you need a large quantity again from a Japanese store, ask if there is a restaurant supply store in your area. That's where I get mine, they come in 1 kilo bags for about 500 or 600 yen. Otherwise you'll be buying about 20 of those little bags! LOL, been there done that!

What a great idea, Marla. I've not heard of a restaurant supply store, but haven't thought to ask.
