Sunday - guess I'll keep blogging while my computer is possessed...shouldn't be able to infect other computers via a blog....and this way I will be able to copy this to word on my hard drive when I have access to it again.

Today was a typical Sunday. Nothing else to say.

OH - I had to run by Mike's office to pick up a couple things for him. I took Stacia and Zander with me. We opened the door and Zander said, "Where is he? Are we taking him home now?" :::gulp::: I guess he's figured Mike was at work all this time...which may be why he doesn't like to talk to Mike very often.

We had a rainy day today. Jamin, Jared, Arielle, Stacia and I took a mile long walk in it...fun. The weather changing may be a bit of the reason that the younger boys have been "off" today - fighting and such.

Life must go on even with computer stupidity so here's our menu for the week:

Enchiladas (which we didn't eat last week after all), rice, salad
Baked Penne/Zitti, garlic pull apart bread, salad
"Shake and Bake" chicken, corn, rolls
Taco/nachos/taco salad type night
Encore Presentation
Pizza

Tortellini if needed to fill in gaps somewhere....

De'Etta,

I like how you call your leftovers an encore presentation. My great aunt calls them "reruns".

Ahhh, poor Zander. It is hard to comprehend those things when you are so little. It would be hard for me to deal with it and I'd like to think I'm mature LOLOL......

Oh well...everybody is sleeping and I am procrastinating starting my work. I better do something soon!

What a bummer you are having computer problems. At least you can still blog! :-)

I would love your Shake n' Bake recipe when you have time.

The Littles ask everyday if Daddy is coming home that day. They really don't understand that time factor.

I used to make up a calendar for Gabe that he could mark off the days, but with such a long deployment, that might not be helpful.

Still praying.

I've always done a calendar or chain thing but with 5 months to go it seems like it may make the time seem to go SLOWER. {g} I'm thinking after Christmas and birthdays (Feb) that I may do a chain for the last month or so.

My shake and bake recipe is on the other computer - the one that is currently possessed....but I'll find it soon. LOL

I'm sorry that Eric couldn't help you more. He said it's just too hard to figure out what's wrong over email. I think you need a specialist.

You're menu looks good! We usually have our "encore" on Saturday during lunch. I have to admit that we barely ever have leftovers. I still haven't increased my recipes, I just make more sides.LOL I'm guessing that not going to work much longer.lol

Lisa - give Eric and hug and thank him for trying to help. Mike called and said the same thing. At least I can still get online on another computer...but my records, printing, outlook files {sigh}. We have a friend who was the deputy commander of the communications squadron here on base...he said he'd drop by today and see if he can figure anything out.

Mike thought maybe its time to buy a new computer and slave this hard drive to the new one...but THAT sounds very confusing to me as well. LOL

My dh said that he would recommend at least an upgrade of your system. The newer Windows has that back-up feature that would've saved all but the most current stuff from this crash. I will definitely give him that hug, though. He felt so bad that he couldn't help more.

I know that we have a "slave" so it may not be as hard as it sounds.lol I think that you just move the chip to the new computer and the new computer will ask you how you want to use the extra drive. My dh built our computers and it saved us a lot of money. We got exactly what we needed and we "harvested" a lot of the old stuff from our old computer. Sounds like a good older child "homeschool project" to me.lol Eric got most of the new computer parts from New Egg.

I hope your friend is able to fix your computer.

Blessings,

Lisa

Sorry to hear that your computer is still messed up. Hope to see you back emailing soon. Not sure but I think yahoo is messed up too because I've sent several emails today and none of them have gone anywhere from the looks of it!

I read your list of meals and then remembered I still had a recipe in my "copy" feature... so I pasted it :)

Sweet Potato Casserole
(this is great for Thanksgiving when the oven is full of the turkey)

2 cans (18oz each) sweet potatoes, drained and mashed
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 TBS sugar
2 TBS brown sugar
1 TBS orange juice
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 TBS flour
2 TBS butter, melted

Lightly butter crockpot. Mix mashed sweet potatoes, butter and sugars. Beat in OJ, eggs and milk. Transfer to crockpot.
Combine pecans, brown sugar, flour and butter. Spread evenly over top of sweet potatoes.
Cover and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours.

I need to start making menus again. You and Lisa have inspired me. lol

I wish I had something great to post about Zander and the sadness. All I can think of is I'm sorry and I'll pray. I agree with Kelly.... it's hard to understand and deal with when you're grown up much less when you're little. Thank God for technology so that it's not weeks and months between letters anymore!
