Brick Walls

I've hit a brick wall.....a "I can't cope any more" spot...and I'm glad it hit now and not earlier. ::snort::

I couldn't think of a thing to fix without my oven for dinner...and all I want to do is sleep and make this cold go away...though it is much better....I had to go buy milk at Sam's and came out with Chicken Pot Pies and Dino Nuggets.....I'll probably have to give back my 'crunchy mom' blinkie. Maybe I need Andrew to make one for me that says...um..."90% crunchy" or "junk food as needed" or "where's the CALGON"....::snort::

I plan to wake up tomorrow with energy and clean the house, clean the van, haul things away - all those things that I think are draining my energy...on top of the dumb congestion thing. LOL

I'm sure when I think about I'll find some really good things that happened today to post. ::snort:: And don't worry that I'm walking around depressed....I'm not....I have a huge, idiotic grin on my face....I just have no energy....

Oh - somehow a water fight erupted in my backyard...which spilled to the driveway....and then to the garage....and three bags of grain got WET....any clues what I should do? Amazing how those things "somehow" happen to "no one".

I'm sure life will look better after I eat my Marie Callendar's Chicken Pot Pie....I miss MC come to think of it....

No profound words, just hugs and prayers.

You have done fantastic, the end is in sight. Cut yourself some slack, get some sleep, don't forget to sleep and reread your blog from the last few months. You guys are just awesome!

I get like this after three weeks, I really can not imagine six months.

Awww, prayers for you to kick your cold and gain some energy for tomorrow. I'm with Debbie, I wouldn't have been able to make this far...

Hugs,

Jen in Az.

DeEtta,
There are all sorts of tastey meals you can make in a crockpot. I'll send you some recipes.

I've had wet bags of grain before. I let it dry and used it. Most of it was just damp though.

Keep on keeping on!

How about cooking up a large pot of brown rice and asking each child to add an ingredient from your store cupboard or fridge to make it into a rice salad.

Some egs: grated cheese,
cooked cubed chicken,
slices of ham, diced,
hard boiled eggs, quartered,
cashew nuts,
pumpkin seeds,
sliced peppers, tomatoes,
fresh coriander (cilantro?)

The fun would be in seeing what each child would pick!I did this once with a group of kids and it was great.

Also, I did a soup like that. I had a bunch of women coming for a training day and each person brought an ingredient for the soup which we threw together for lunch. It was beautiful!

Praying for you.

Hmmm....I wondered why Renee sent me oodles of crock pot recipes this a.m. ::snort:: And Dorothy the rice idea sounds good and I have all that stuff....Maybe we'll do stir fry for dinner...probably better than the Hot Pockets I bought for tonight. ::snort::

Sis:

You KNOW what I would do if my stove and/or oven were on the blink! I'd just have another GOOD reason to go out to eat. That is what I look for and grab anytime I can........ of course it is only Dad/I to pay for when eating out. :):(

WELL, just look at your feelings as the DIP before the ELATION of Mike getting home. Normal to start to plunge a bit when your man is coming back from being gone for a long time.

Will be praying for you and the whole family and the cold junk as well as you getting some strength back.

Just don't think you have to have everything perfect when Mike hits town. (sounds like you Mom's way) He will be so happy to be home and with you all again that he probably won't notice anything else but you all.
