I had to drive back to get a photo! It IS cold here - 32* day time. That is REALLY cold for this area. We haven't had moisture and no other trees or yards are iced over except all the trees in this park. We can only guess that the city's sprinklers came on early this a.m. ::snort::

This is a more normal sight around here, but how funny to find it on just the trees in the park. I think your assessment of how this happened is probably correct.

When we drove home from Missouri earlier this month . .the day we left it was 11 degrees . .we thought as we drove more south the temps would warm up. Well, we ere kinda wrong . . it did warmup but we didn't get into the 20's until Florida. Brrrrrrrrrrrr.
BRRRRR... We had been in the 50s the last few days until just yesterday when it dipped way down below freezing.
I haven't posted my ice storm photos from last month...I have SO many, too....
Oh, by the way...here's a little keyboard shortcut for you...to make a degree sign hold ALT and type 0176...this will give you °!

Lisa in ME linked to a blog that had photos like this taken with a large piece of black-painted cardboard behind it. The effect was absolutely stunning. It's something Holly and I will try, and you don't even need an ice shot for a lovely effect.
