being old enough that you can remember when beach shoes were flip flops, then thongs and now back to flip flops.....and the same children who years and years ago called them thongs are MORTIFIED and amused when you say, "Get your thongs on and let's go to the pool!" ::snort::

Sister Rachael admonished me yesterday when I called them thongs -- she says I must never, never, never do that or else my kids will die of embarrassment ... some day that will come in really handy!

AAAUUGGGHHH! I'm OLD. I remember the whole flip-flop thong thing. We always called them thongs.

You should have heard some of the kids at school a few years back when I said "thongs" the first few times before I knew the newer meaning of thongs.
There are constantaly knew off color meanings to things I might happen to say not knowing......... but now the kids just say things like..... "Jan, let me explain the new meaning". OK!!! :):)
There is never a day goes by that I don't learn something either at school or hear and about. I love learning.... most of the time!

LOL! Reminds me of a term I can't get out of my head. YOu know how the backgrounds on a computer monitor are sometimes called the "wallpaper" well.. I have this bad habit of calling the FB "wall" the wallpaper.. as in "Hey, Em I just posted something on so and so's wallpaper." She's MORTIFIED!
Yeah, better to put on thongs than go, um, barefoot....
