"Hotel California"

A hit by the American band the Eagles in 1976 (dating myself a bit?)....all the words do not apply at all....but this is something of the theme song for Mike and his traveling partner. ::snort:: The song is really fairly dark now that I read all the lyrics...and to think we ran around singing this thing.....LOL

"Welcome to the hotel california
Such a lovely place
Such a lovely face
Plenty of room at the hotel california
Any time of year, you can find it here

Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before’relax,’ said the night man,
We are programmed to receive.
You can checkout any time you like,
But you can never leave! "

Hi DeEtta,

Yes, I know the song, but I still don't understand your last post. I want to be sympathetic, like everyone else but still don't understand! {g}

So, are you going to a hotel instead of using the RV? Why is the car going backwards and what is at 79%?

I'm glad you posted these words--when I read your first post, I was trying to figure out exactly HOW Hotel California fit in. And after checking through the lyrics, yes, it is a "dark" song. But like most other songs, I never paid any attention to the actual words, lol.

Isn't it frightening when you go back and listen to the lyrics of the words you blissfully mouthed in your youth?????

I had that moment too when I got a sitcom that we'd watched as kids....I couldn't believe how many references there were that were not acceptable to me as an adult but that I simply didn't catch as a youth.
