Day 4 - Angel Lake, NV to Klamath Falls, OR?????

Things I've learned on this vacation.....I like dragging my bed and couch along with me on vacations. ::snort::

When you can't sleep (unfamiliar noises of semi's driving through my bedroom), and you check the computer clock.....it may well say 5:30 a.m. but you DO have more than an hour before wake up call.....because you are not in TX any longer.....I think I've been up since 3:30 a.m.

Expect the unexpected. We hope to make it to OR today. We noted that the sidewalls on our NEW tires was starting to separate. Mike thought he'd wait until Eugene to fix the tires.....but the breaks are growing......so this a.m. we will head to Elko and prayerfully find someone to fix three tires for us....so we can prayerfully make it to Klamath Falls and the KOA pool I've promised the youngers. ::snort::

De'Etta,
The mere mention of KOA's bring peals of laughter from our kids. On our cross country move from Hawai'i to Pennsylvania I think we stayed at every KOA along the way. Some good and others not so good (we stayed in the cabins then since we only had 3 kids).

I hope your family gets a chance to visit Crater Lake National Park. The kids still talk about it.

I have never even heard of Angel Lake, NV and I live in the state! LOL I do know where Elko is though and have been there (albeit in high school for debate tournaments many moons ago). It sounds like you guys are having a great trip!

Okay, I just looked it up and realized you were near Wells, NV at Angel Lake. It looked pretty from the pictures I saw on the internet, but I know they do tend to post their most "lovely" views.

Have fun!

Sis:

Praying for you and the tires. Just about the time your body starts to get use to the time change it will be back to Texas for you. :)

See you Saturday!

I remember staying in KOA's years ago when they were new and had baby trees. I have grown up thinking KOA's have no shade! We recently stayed at one and I realized that trees do grow and now there is very nice shade!

Maybe you'll even run across one of those KOAs that has a waterpark like we have here. We always try to make it up there once a summer.

Diann - Angel Lake was pretty - the mountains are gorgeous. The camp owner was wonderful.

Well the first KOA was o.k. This one is CROWDED and noisy...and not at all what we are looking for....we do better in the geriatric parks...and those folks like our kids. We are quickly learning that many with much smaller families than ours have incredibly unruly and LOUD kids. LOL
