So much to write...

...but I'm too tired.

It's 1 a.m. and we will have Mike at the airport at 10:30 a.m. I JUST finished printing out all the new passport applications so that Mike can sign them before he leaves the country...in the a.m.

After the news shows, a radio station interviewed some of the kids. I think the interviews were o.k. I'll find links later. Someone saw the van after the news story. We now have a van! It has a hole where a lock should be. It has no luggage or passports or gps etc.....but we have it. I was praying for the passports and really was prepared not to have the van...but this is the way it is. ::snort:: This IS great....I'm simply too tired to fully appreciate the miracle at this point. ::grin:: OH....the boys bought me M/M's while we were at Mcchord trying to speed things along today...that should help me fit into those maternity clothes that are waiting in Japan. LOL

I've applied for birth certificates. I'm not sure what I'm going to do beyond that. I will stay here in the area until the certificates arrive. I'm having them mailed to the TSgt who is helping me, as we have no address. I had planned to go visit family in OR after I was sure the passports were processing. The Sgt would prefer we stay here until we leave the country. We'll talk some more. I'm not sure I see the reason to stay here. It will be a minimum of 6 weeks, by the sounds of it, before the kids and I can join Mike. I bought a TRAC phone as I also had no phone. ::snort::

I'm not sure much of my faith came through on the news...but I felt good to be able to talk to the newscasters. ::snort:: One of them asked me point blank if I felt that God was telling me not to go to Japan....I tried to explain that I felt that He was telling me to look for the door in the midst of the trouble.

Well...pulling an all nighter is not going to help me deal with the goodbyes and paperwork tomorrow. The older kids decided to stay one more day with us. They want to help and I need to convince them that we are going to be o.k. I think it is killing the boys to leave while we are still "unsettled."

Off to bed...

Continuing to pray. Couldn't you hand carry the birth certificates to San Fran's pasport office to rush things? That is how my dh gets family to Germany fast to see their loved ones in the hospital. They hand carry in New York.
At least you have your van. Your passports are probably pretty hot- so they may show up as well.

Wow--We are praying for you all. Deja shared the link and YES your faith and strength came through beautifully as the prov 31 woman you are. People who see that will definitely think "Hmm..how can she be okay with all this and you told them why." Way to take the opportunity. Praying that you get your documents back. that Mike gets there safely and you all are soon behind him. Sorry this had to happen.

Continuing to pray. I know your faith holds you through this time and that you believe God's hand in all this. I can't imagine going through something like this without God. May this temporary separation remind you of the joy of Heaven where we will be together for eternity. You are not alone today DeEtta. You have an army of prayer warriors holding your arms up so the battle will be won.

I searched for the link last night, and watched it as the kids were hoping for glimpses of their friends. I agree with Wendy about your faith coming through. Glad the van was recovered. Would be hard to miss it after the piece. Praying that the rest of the documents turn up, along with the thugs that did this. If they find them, you should give Alex a bag of skittles to eat, along with a mountain dew...and set him in a room with them. They'll learn that they messed with the wrong family LOL

I don't know if you are allowed to use them, but there are passport services that can get them in a little over 24 hours(for a fee). You have to show an itenarary to prove you need them quickly.

As most have said, we are praying, and if we can do anything to help, let us know.

Not exactly what you want to make the news for is it? But how incredible that they found the van.. even sans important documents. Not knowing how serious they will take it, maybe foresics can track down the culprits and maybe recover some of what was in the van... Praying Praying Praying! As for the interview... De'Etta, have no worries. As a Woman of Faith, you certainly expressed yourself well, and with Hope! God bless you all!

De'Etta, rejoicing with you over the van, but so very disappointed that none of your things were in it.
Continuing to pray for you as you prepare to send Mike on ahead. You continue to be an inspiration to me of what a truly Godly woman looks like...sorry, hope that isn't too heavy a burden.

Oh Honey! I hadn't been checking in on blogs much the last couple of days. I figured it'd be a day or two before you got to a place to post. WOW! I missed alot. Stay strong friend I am so sorry you are having to deal with this. Your faith is shining through. God Bless.

De'Etta, I'm so happy to hear the van was recovered but saddened that your documents were not with it.

Continuing to pray here that you're all able to travel together. If not, we'd love to open up our home to you and the children.

Mike/DeEtta:

PTL for the VAN! Will continue to pray concerning the other stuff. Sometimes it is hard to KNOW that GOD is in control and yet wish a certain thing wasn't happening.

PTL, we are sure people were touched by the interview and the fact that your faith showed through. Wonder how many people will be strengthened somehow in their own lives by the example you all set. We'll never know but be sure to know there were such people watching.

Maybe Dad/I can drive up to spend a day or 2 with you wherever you land? We sure have the time but just not the money to stay in a hotel again yet. We so wish to also be sure you left behind are fine, settled, and we will hope to be able to drive up to see you off whenever you leave.

I am writing so much because this is the only place I can long on since getting home. :):):) The most important place to long on anyway is here.

Will/Sherri, Hanthaniel/Heather, Armeda Dukes, Gary, various pastors all say to tell you they are praying.

love/prayers
