Family Photo "2010"

We were quite the object of awe at the photo studio. This was a blast! Wearing a kimono is an amazing experience. Instant posture...instant 15 lbs added. ::snort::

The guys made quite a few jokes about their attire, but I thought they looked incredibly handsome.

The ladies got a kick out of the men folk clapping and cheering for each of the finished ladies. They dressed us, did our hair....accessorized us. Note our proper Kimono stance...one leg straight, one bent, both at peculiar angles.

We debated on spending the better part of a day on a family photo, but I'm glad we did. A few eyes were misty as we saw the girls all dressed up....Arielle and Stacia did me in....they grow so quickly. I could think of some great shots...but they seemed to have standard shots and aren't into creativity. I thought Stacia standing in front of the men with their swords would have been great.

The ladies and photographer made many nice comments about the children and ME having nine of them. ::snort:: The dressing process to wear one of these things is incredible. WOW. We felt a bit strange running around town afterwards with teased and poofy hair... ::grin:: This was the ultimate dress up party.

Our girl scout troop had a family who had lived in Jamap come to a meeting. The Mom put me in a komono. It was fun but tiring. Love the pictures. Too bad they didn't let you all play around a bit.
Enjoy your time with all of them. So glad you are all together.

What a fun way to memorialize your time in Japan. I agree that Stacia in front of the men would have made a fabulous picture!

Ooooh what wonderful pictures! Too bad we didn't set you up at a ranch for pictures when you were here ;-) My kids barely recognized Arielle...and Erik was amazed that you let Alex have a sword LOL.

HI to ALL"

Thank you all so much for getting these pictures. They will be a treasure to us.

Must say we agree that the men are totally handsome. But we must also say the women are totally beautiful. Took me a moment or three to recognize which one was Krista/Arielle. Loved the looks on Nolan/Alexander's faces. Loved the swords and hair dooooo's.

Take it from a Mom who treasures stuff that these pictures will be super treasures. I'm going to get some colored ink and print the main family one 8x10. :):) love/prayers --- homesick for Asia and Japan --- Mom T. :):)

What a priceless treasure this will be in years to come. You WILL be glad you spent the time. As you said, it was fun, it was family time, and it is a mark in your history book of when your family was complete in Japan.

Stacia looks especially priceless and beautiful!

I had to look twice to figure out which blond daughter was Arielle! Wow! Great photos & love this! It certainly seems like you are all jumping in to Japan culture. Awesome. I can't wait to keep reading about all your adventures. ;-)
