Holy Cow!

Yes, that's right. A whole cow!  Why in the world is a vegan buying a cow? Well - three are not vegans... one is a nutritarian and two are meat and potato "teens."  This way I know that when we DO have beef it is certified organic, no antibiotics, no hormones....and so I split a cow with a couple of friends. We should have 127# of beef - though we've lost some beef. The rancher has asked us to recount the entire order....so we'll be playing with beef again this afternoon.....playing with beef is close enough for me. LOL  Michael is dreaming of a steak - tomorrow dear, tomorrow.

That's the way to do it. My Mumand Dad used to buy ours that way. I remember driving to pick up 1/2 a Cow and Half a pig all processed and ready for the freezer.
How did you guys find a place to do this?

Sharon,

He's a local rancher and he's willing to raise and butcher for you. You have to buy the whole cow so we went in together.

wow that is a lot of beef. Even I would have a problem getting all that eaten in a year. Of course, I really am not that crazy about eating anyway. Enjoy the steak Mike. l/p mom t.
