LINKING A GRAPHIC

OK - Kristine showed me how to do this with the Pray for Heather picture. Since Jamie asked how, I went and played with the html code and I can't get the summer one to link. Will someone who has linked the GRAPHIC share step by step instructions as to how you did it. When I tried my code/title was too long to fit in the title box....so I was going to change the title of the post but then I wondered if it would break the link that some of you have already set.

NOW - Jamie - what I did was upload the graphic in blogger as a photo. THEN I went to the template section and clicked "link list". I right clicked on the time stamp of the SRC official post, clicked properties, copied that code into the link list at blogger and titled it "intro/rules whatever". Directly under THAT I did the same thing with my post that has my reading list. SO...if you click on the graphic in my sidebar you go no where....but the links are directly under it for you to click on.

WHO linked the graphic? Tell me how. Maybe you can share the code in the comment section for all of us, oh wise, wise, techie one. ::snort::

I use Typepad, so the way I do it is different than you would on Blogger. First I download the graphic to my computer, then on Typepad I upload it to my 'Files". Once its uploaded, I click on the file name and it pulls the graphic up on its own page. I copy that page's URL then I go into my TypeLists, click on a links TypeList, click Add an Item, and on the first line I type "img src=" (here is where I paste the URL of the image I uploaded)" /> . On the second line I type the URL of the page I want the graphic to link back to. Click save, and it's done. It took me a while to figure out exactly how to do it, but I've figured out how to add graphics with links in other ways now, too.

My son is the Blogger expert around here. If you have a specific question, email it to me and I'll ask him.

De'Etta, I do not load my graphics, as graphics, but as html code.
Here are the steps....
1. Put your graphic on your computer somewhere.
2. call up a new post and load your picture, copy it from the html screen (not compose), leave screen without saving.
3. Go to the template screen and click "add new element", select html item and paste your graphic.
4. Paste the following in front of the graphic code

at the end of graphic code insert this:

I think that will work! :-)

Ugh, can't get it to work without coming up as a link! I'll email you and hopefully that will work.

I have to load all of my things via template html code so that probably isn't very appealing to many of you, but if it is let me know because I have the code that I used and you'd just have to change the address of where you uploaded the picture. Mine is uploaded to photobucket.

Debbie - I can't get the code you sent to work.

I will probably settle for the link list UNDER the graphic as that works. LOL

I did the link thing with pray for Heather but even that the graphic doesn't link but the title above the graphic. I don't know.
