MONARCHS ETC

This is a test! What happened to the text I HAD here...this is my first photo bucket try.

Anyway, Jamin informs me that the Monarch is the TX state insect. I have no clue where he heard that. I had no clue that states HAD insects...birds, flags...yes, but somehow I missed the insect thing.
We studied insects last year. We've been doing a unit on Monarchs this year. When we lived in San Antonio they used to ROOST in the trees in our yard on their way south every year...and north too. It was cool. I hoped....we haven't seen anything that spectacular around here...but we did make a spur of the minute run to the park today to visit with friends (Tricia, Ashley and Abby) and to check on butterflies.

Questions for photo bucket users....I loaded all 5 of these at one time. It WAS quick. BUT why can't I get the text to go up beside the photos? Why are the photos so small? Why do some have blue frames? I'm sure I'll think of more questions. ::snort::

I don't use photobucket to upload pictures to Blogger.

I've not had any problems with uploading pictures to Blogger from my computer.........

I hope you figure it out. The pictures are small :::Snort:::

Quit snorting at me young lady. I'm at 86% of bloggers limit and I don't want to pay....so I've been forced to learn a new trick....but so far it isn't saving me any time. LOL

I can't see the pics you posted with this new method :(

So is anyone else having trouble seeing the new photos?

Renee do you mean they are small and you can't see them or they don't show up at all? Was the sling one better?

OK, I won't snort any more lol......

I did use photobucket at first because I didn't realize you could upload from the computer.

I resize my pictures to 350 x whatever the computer automatically does.........

And then save to my computer and upload that to photobucket.

De'Etta, I can see your photos fine....just that they are smaller.

For those of us who aren't blogger savvy (me!!!!), please explain what you mean by being at 86% of blogger?

Thank you for the gift certificate for the Freezer Challenge! What a treat it was to open my email this morning and see it first thing! Thanks!

I don't know why your pictures are so small. When I upload my pictures to photobucket I have to go in and resize for email and you can see how big they turn out after that resize.. all of my pictures are uploaded through photobucket. If I forget to resize them they take up almost the entire screen.

I don't see any blue borders on your photos.

And... I've not been able to wrap text around my picture either, but I also haven't spent much time trying.. I suppose there's a code of some sort. I just put the text above or below the pictures like you do in your other, non-photobucket, posts.

I will sometimes put a picture of the cover of a book or the icon for a blog challenge through blogger since those take so little space and are ones I would/could eventually go back and just delete. I don't care if those stay on forever.,... but pictures... I don't want to lose those.

Weird that your photos are so small...are you sure you didn't accidentally click a button to resize them all? They look about the size I end up with when I click to resize at the smallest setting - avatar something or other if I remember right.

Michelle, when you go to upload a photo - to the right of the little box thing you will see a percentage number....you are allowed only so much space on picasa for photos before they start charging you. Evidently loading from photobucket doesn't USE any of that space that blogger allows....because you insert a html code in your entry while composing a blog entry instead of loading a photo. So PB is storing the photos and blogger is getting the code to show the photos from PB.

Renee,

Is there a setting where you've said you don't want htlm code? Though that wouldn't make sense. I can't figure out why you would see no photos at all.....

**I don't know why your pictures are so small.

I figured it out. They were automatically set for avatar or thumbnail size. I changed that to web and wala.....now is web what I want? The one of Stacia is websize.

**I don't see any blue borders on your photos.

They disappeared when I published. Shew.

**And... I've not been able to wrap text around my picture either,

OK - I was thinking that was one of the features you had used....I don't like the big gap like that when I put the photos on the sides...I think it must be something to do with the code...but I've not figured it out.

I'll have to go check out your blog....my question is now do I upload all the photos at once and if I do - can I comment in between them? Or should I load the PB photos one at a time so each photo has it's OWN code and I can comment in between. Do you kwim?

I'm trying to figure out how this will affect the storage thing with Blogger. Do I STILL need to go delete things or will I be o.k. if I do my photos this way? I guess I can only watch and see. LOL

It's strange this morning I couldn't see the butterfly nor the sling pics (all I saw a an "x" in the corner) Now this afternoon (on a different computer) I can see the pics....
I'll have to figure out if they have different settings or what (chances are I won't figure it out and I'll just read blogs on this newer computer()

I can see them all, I notice if you click on them you get a larger picture.

I am at 92% full of Blogger so lately I have switched to Photobucket!

DeEtta @ Courageous Joy said...

92% - you win the prize Emily. Someone needs to go to 100% and see what they really DO. LOL

De'Etta, you can add titles to each picture after you upload it, it will be one of the options above each picture...but only after you have uploaded it.

The 'blue border' effect was because blogger was letting you know there was a hyperlink attached to the images. That never shows when you publish.

Some people will need to reduce their 'privacy protection' settings to see all your photos

I don't know why some blogs have this problem and some don't. I can see all the pictures on my and a number of other blogs using photobucket images -but my daughter's blog has the same problem as yours. I think one of the Karens' blog is the same way too.

What I love to do is use the little thumbnail image Photobucket makes for each picture the image you can see on my blog and then link to the full sized one, rather than have an avatar version AND a full-sized one taking up my limited space. All you do is use the same code as for the full image and manually add 'th_' to the front of it, then use the html code to link to the big picture.

Hope that helps!

I meant I can see all the photobucket pictures on most blogs without reducing my ad protection in privacy control - but for some blogs that is what I have to do first. Then I can always see those pictures !

Just realized that I might have worried you unnecessarily!
