Photobucket Simple Pages

My pages have been fussy. I wanted to be sure you know that Smilebox does allow you to do simple pages too. This "storybook" design template is simple and less fussy.....I wish it had more options to customize the layouts, BUT they are done. LOL I hear that smilebox is very open to suggestions....

Stacia woke up at 4 and needed ME and I can't go back to sleep....so I did 7 or 8 pages from Religious Education. These two I can share because they are either my children (or Debbie said I can show her family) or adults.

If I had a program I could manipulate Ivan there and the text box would be switched....

AND I would add text or some title to the white space here....

I also realized sometime in the night that I have MY writing ready to scan and send to Darcy to get my OWN writing in a font. With a program I THINK I could use my own writing for journaling and I would like that.

I signed up for a 2 week free trial at smilebox. The learning curve is about zero. I have made 49 pages in 3 days. I plan to keep making them, saving them, and searching for somewhere to print them. I am quickly noting that I like digital scrapbooking. I'm debating if simply doing these quickly with design templates saves me enough time that it is worth the lack of total choice....or since I enjoy this so much I would perfer to learn a program that allows me to do just what I see in my mind. LOL In other words I am trying to decide if I will want to learn the program softwares in the next year or if I'd be happy using templates for a year or so. LOL It is nice to have new design templates pop up every week or so.....

The great thing about smilebox is that if I see nothing in my mind - I can simply put a photo in THEIR vision and wala - it looks fussy and fancy. ::snort::

I hear stirring so I must head to the gym.

I have enjoyed seeing the pages you've been posting. I signed up for Smile Box on Saturday. I hope to get an email today saying that they approved my application for a free year. All that business about what school district and all that, always makes me wonder, KWIM?

All you had to put in was homeschool for school name, for website a county homeschool site would work, for school district I don't remember what I did......LOL

I've not heard about the application yet but I know that Cindy got her year free and she homeschools.

CVS has buy one photo book, get one free! I've never made photo book, but it sounds like an interesting deal.

I'm not sure I want a photo book for my MAIN family albums....so I'm doing albums for albums. LOL But I'm seeing lots of deals for books here and there.

Oh - did I mention in a post that I got word DO get the Teacerh's Toolbox for a year thing?

So far, I've been able to successfully ignore all of this smilebox/digiscrapping stuff. The last thing I need is one more computer or photo temptation, lol.

The question you state is also what kept me from going digiscrapping before.. that and also feeling like I already do enough on the computer I didn't want to add scrapping to that list as well... but, you already know I'm LOVING IT! For now my plan is to use smilebox to quickly get through a backlog of pictures giving me some time to do our old pictures quickly as well while still working current backwards if that makes sense.. THEN.. when I'm a little more on top of things I *might* explore the other options.. mainly the CM one since I already have that... but now smilebox has spoiled me on the cost.... $40 a year goes a long way with a subscription, but it won't go far with having to buy paper packs, elements, etc... So.. not sure what I'll do, but for now I'm on a roll and I'm sticking with this until I have time to try something else...

one more thing... or until Smilebox doesn't have enough 12x12 designs to have my pages look different enough... so far I've been really pleased with how fast they are adding 12x12 layouts, but now that I'm almost caught up with this year I don't want to have last years pics look exactly the same.. kwim? But, having all those different backgrounds and colors to chose from will make sure they look different for awhile anyway...
