SUNDAY - 13 AUGUST - DAY ELEVEN

A day of travel.....from Canon City, CO to Santa Fe, NM. I was surprised to see some of the beautiful scenery in NM.....wow....high mountain meadows...trees....and in the blink of an eye - high desert. We plan to stay here for a couple of days and then go on home. It will be fun to explore Santa Fe tomorrow. Since leaving Taos we've been noticing that brown is the color of choice.....it looks eerily like an Air Force base.

Oh - another funny thing that happened in Canon City. I was walking down the hall and saw a man enter another's room. They yelled and such and he was apologizing....the desk gave him the key.....he was so very sorry. I rushed to my room and slid the deadbolt. {g}

We saw a lady with a dog that looked exactly like Beatrix...our dog. Vets have been guessing for years as to what kind of dog she is. The pound said she was German Shepherd/Corgi....not a chance. She doesn't look a thing like a GS. We stopped and asked the lady what breed her dog was...AUSTRALIAN shepherd and Corgi.....LOL

Very tired and the beds actually look comfortable here at the Hampton Inn - where a military ID get's $94 a night off each room. Mike is still talking about road whales....

Beatrix can finally get in touch with her true nationality. Wonder if she was upset being called German all this time while in fact she is Australian...funny the accent didn't clue the vet in sooner VBG.

Too funny!

I'm really glad to have the mystery solved!!! It's funny how much it must have bothered me not to know WHAT she was. LOL
