Blog Comments

Oh - the trial of figuring out what to do with comments. I used to write posts like these and respond to comments this way. But now there are more comments and it's easier to comment where the comment is left.

BUT do any of you go back and read my responses????? Should I just ignore comments????

I am signed up to get your comments in my email box now - AND IT IS FINALLY WORKING. This means that if you comment on an old post I know about it - and I don't have to scan back to see if someone may have posted and I missed it. But if you comment on an old post do YOU go back to see if I responded????? I have no idea.

One comment I did want to respond to and be sure Susan saw : "I was always told to eat lots of hard boiled eggs and gelatin when you have blood loss issues. Tuna & salmon fillets are great too." What an awesome confirmation, Susan. Thanks. I've been CRAVING eggs and SALMON and TUNA the past few days. How cool of God to program our bodies to crave what we need.

Anyway - what do you think about comments? Do YOU ALL GO BACK AND CHECK? Those who have blogs - do you answer questions in the comment section. It seems if someone asks a question, they'd go back and remember to see the answer????

Of course on my blog if I don't answer a question they can always use the chat box to catch my attention too......

How do you all handle this????

De'Etta, if I ask a specific question, I like to go back and see if it was answered. Some people always answer questions on comments, some don't. I also usually answer questions if people ask on my blog.

De'Etta,
I do the same as Debbie. If I've specifically asked a question (and REMEMBER that I asked it) I do go back and check to see if there's a response.

On my blog, I respond to the comment where the comment was posted.

I also go back to the comment section to see if the blogger has answered my question. I sort of take a mental note of about how many comments there were and then I can usually tell at a glance if any comments were added after mine. I do have to say, though, that I don't go back very far.. iow, I'll go back a few days, but I figure after a few days have gone by the blogger may not go back and read/answer the comments...unless it's a blog where someone only posts occasionally and then I'll look back a few blog entries to see if they answered questions or not.

I usually always go back and leave a comment to comments on my blog. Easy to do when the comment notification is working!

I use the comment notification, too. It has made things easier, although for some reason the people who check my blog seem to like to email me privately rather than leave a comment on my blog. That's ok too ~ whatever works.

I do go through and scan the comments on other people's blogs ~ and if I leave a comment with a specific question, I will go back and check to see if the comment/question has been answered. I say comment on the comment ~ makes life easier, and keeps the discussion confined all to one area. :)

I go back to a blog where I have commented to see if there is an answer. On my blog, I usually answer in the comment box and hope whoever commented will come back. Occasionally, I will email them (as you know) if I feel it's too complicated or whatever for the comment box.

OK so basically if they ask a question in the comment section, I can answer in the comment section (even if it is an old post) and they'll check back if they really want to see my answer. LOL

I agree, De'Etta, I keep track (vaguely) if I've asked a question and go back and check if it's there. I notice some people don't go back and check so I e-mail them if it's something I especially want to respond to.

Of course, if the comment response is going to be LONG, then I do enjoy another whole blog on the subject. For example, when Lisa wrote a blog on cooking and breakfasts. I had asked her some questions in the comment section but she answered in an entire extra post. Great to do that sometimes.

OK then if y'all ask a question, I won't worry that you won't see the answer. I'll answer in the comments.....LOL

I try to remember to answer the question in the comment section.I get email notification of people's comments (and questions) so that's pretty easy to remember to do.

But sometimes, I forget because I have a medical condition. It's called Scrumdillyumptiousness.

I go back and check the comment box usually as well when I have commented. I did write a post a week or so ago with answers to questions/comments, though.

BTW, I think I have that "Scrumdillyumptiousness" too! LOL I always tell my kids, "If you don't write it down, I won't remember it." and I have to have lists for EVERYTHING.

I need to find out how to get on that comment notification thing you all are talking about. I usually scan the comments on my blog for the last week or so to see if the number has gone up . .. I then go back and answer or reply to any comments. If someone comments on blogs from way back . . I probably will never see them.

I try to remember to go back and see if the person answered my question but I have been so busy lately it's lucky if I get to catch up on the blogs let alone check the comments :-)

I have it set up so that I get notified when there is a comment. Then I respond to that person by email (if a response is needed) and sometimes I respond on my blog... but I know I have a hard time getting back to older postings on folks' blogs

I rarely leave questions because I usually forget and don't go back to that post. If people leave questions on my blog, I will respond by email if I can or leave my answer as a comment if I can't. Are you checking back this far to see your answers??
