YESTERDAY

I spent time online trying to find chore charts.

I went to the POST OFFICE, TWICE..... We exchanged the girls' main birthday gifts and upgraded to a better one at Mike's request. I can't say more about that until they open their gifts this weekend. I also mailed two PBS books.

I bought fingernail polish and Chiggarex...and need to go do that again today.

I made a new produce co-op order form. Mike and I discussed how to handle being gone with both co-ops.

I thought more about how to handle Shop Natural's new $50 per month fee.

We began making campground reservations for our upcoming trip....and hotel reservations in Eagle River....Darshia - if you know of nice, cheap type motels in Anchorage or ER - email me or comment. The ones I was finding in Anch were $189 - 250 a night and we need two rooms - too much. We're thinking of those two in Eagle River. Let's make plans to see each other while we're there. I'm sure the boys will want to go fishing. I'm thinking I need to work Curves in somewhere. LOL OR we could bag Curves and do Coldstone. LOL We really have no plans. OH - and there are any businesses that advertise for cheap rental cars? Otherwise, I'll keep checking online. LOL

I observed and learned much about my children's personalities from the various reactions to the chiggar affliction. Maybe we'll study the Egyptian plagues today - have a bit more empathy for the Egyptians today. ::snort::
Not sure what else I did - but I was tired at the end of the day.

Wanted to add that maybe after we retire we can take a "summer" vacation.. that's about the only way I see us going to AK. I don't think we'd want to go there in the winter (LOL) which is the only time we can vacation.

You can color my blue eyes green right now, De'Etta. I'm definitely jealous that you're going to Anchorage/Eagle River ~ but jealous in a good, loving, caring, gracious way, of course! LOL Roger asked me if I wanted to go on a weeks's vacation just the two of us in August. Here I was thinking MAYBE we'd go to Alaska like we've been talking about, but no ~ he was talking about going to San Antonio. Umm, been there, done that, not going to San Antonio in August ever again! (horrible story ~ if you haven't heard it before, and REALLY want to know, email me! LOL)

Stop stressing........and I say hit ColdStone while you have the chance. They have Curves in Texas.....

DeEtta,
I see you are looking for your trip to AK. Have you looked into www.vrbo.com? It might be cheaper to rent a house/condo, with the size of your family. Go to www.vrbo.com and click on AK. Click on Eagle River and it gives you the vacation sites for that location! ENJOY!

DeEtta,
Any luck with my chore links or VRBO, or both?

Also, Sounds like your family has oatmeal baths in their future from Chiggers. I got eaten up with them in TN. They spread and they were EVERYWHERE! When you go to the store, or you can look online for recipes for oatmeal baths!!!

I am SO SO glad about VRBO! On our trip to Sea World in 2001, we rented a NEW, 4 br, 2 1/2 ba, 1.5 miles from Disney and next to a store, for $85/night, off season!! We had our own, fenced in private pool too! We used them again this last Oct/Nov. We stayed 2 miles from the gate in a townhouse (it was different bc we took our dog, who was in heat at the time). We had a 3 br/2 ba townhouse, pool, washer/dryer, etc, $90. We ate all of our meals there, and took our meals in! It was TERRIFIC! I cannot say enough about them. When we go on long trips again, unless we have rewards points, we will NEVER stay in a hotel again!
Enjoy your trip. You deserve it!
