BIG FAMILY MYTH #4 - Those with large families don't "know what causes THAT."

We know what causes children, and we enjoy it ~ thank you very much! Please do NOT feel free to make this comment in front of our children - this is rude! ::snort::

Please also do not call me a breeder in front of my children, this is also rude. Each of my children is a gift from God. This was probably the comment I hated most about my family.....it was years ago. LOL

*if you want a specific topic covered from MY PERSPECTIVE {vbg} on big families email me or click "big family myths" and scroll to the first post - comment in the comment section. I'm checking there for topics.

Because we have a family with 7 children in our church, I am getting to field a lot of big family comments (I watch 3 of the kids in the nursery, other nursery workers make comments.) How should I deal with "I feel sorry for 'oldest daughter'." and other comments? It's not MY family, but I feel compelled to defend their choices. So, I guess one "myth" I would like discussed is that the oldest kids are overburdened with responisiblity. Personally, I don' t see it that way, but people now a days think kids should have no responsibility!

I don't like any of those comments either. We got them when I was pregnant with Allen. I guess being pregnant for the 3rd time with a baby and a toddler is not a good thing??? I dunno...I liked it just fine lol.

Oh, I made your chicken pot pie today. It was delicious. I did add parsley and poultry seasoning.

I made a pretty decent whole wheat crust. I used the crisco recipe, replaced the flour with soft white wheat and the crisco with all butter. I did use 1-2 T more ice water. It was easy to work with and pretty flakey. Not the same as white flour and crisco, but it was good. My entire family ate it and thought it was a keeper, so that's good. Thanks for the recipe.

I've had two different comments about my family. The first one is, Oh, it must be so nice to have the extra help of the older sibs. Then, I've been accused of my oldest dd, "Caring too much about her younger sibs. Teens shouldn't have to care about or have any responsibility towards their younger sibs."LOL I think the biggest problem is what Jen mentioned that most people think kids shouldn't have any responsibility. UGH!

You go, girl!! I hate those comments too. Even with only four we get them!

Thanks for the slide show idea. I switched mine to the same as yours because I like the bigger pictures.

We received comments to through the years- having 5 kids - but I wouldn't change anything in my life - I love everything that comes with having a big family except the rude comments LOL!

LOL - the rude comments have moved beyond offensive to humourous, really. They don't bother me any longer.
