Sensational Saturday

I've made a conscious effort to get the kids out of the house and out of the neighborhood. They'll be housebound for the next week or two. Nate isn't allowed to drive in Japan.

The snow is melting.....and now there is LOTS OF MUD! We still enjoyed a nice walk around the perimeter of Swan Park.

We stopped at the Produce Market on the way home. This is cool. They have greenhouse upon greenhouse of strawberries, bananas, mangoes and pineapples. So WARM.

The strawberries are sold by weight. You pick the berry you want and snip it with scissors. Our container, about a quart, were Y700 ( a bit over $7), but oh are they good and not ONE bad berry in our container.

Our last stop of the day was the OCEAN.
From 2010-02-27

In the evening Nate and the kids stayed home and devoured a roast, played games.....and I joined some friends at Yakiniku house. A fun day from start to finish.

Ah, chapel just called to make sure I know we're under a tsunami warning and I should stay away from the ocean today.  There are times having AFN might be a good idea. LOL

I was gone all day but am glad to see that you all know about the tsunami warning. Way to go Sis.... you take after your parents in that you can find ways to innocently take some interesting chances. :):):) Been praying for you all day.... and of course will continue.

Guess who is in love with her Uncle Nathaniel?

Dad said to tell you he thinks he would like the greenhouses a lot. Said the strawberries look so good.

I really like the 1st swan picture.

Ok. sleep and time to head for bed. love/prayers -- Mom T.

Thought of you as we watched the tsunami news today, but figured you'd be aware... and not at the beach!

Kim - when you called this a.m. and left a message was it on SKYPE? If so my skype is forwarding to the cell phone...I suspect it is because I got one that was International but it wouldn't let me answer it....which is NOT going to help with Mike calling us. LOL

Yes, De'Etta, it was on Skype. It forwarded it pretty quickly. your Skype color was "yellow" - so I wonder if that made any difference?

Bummer that Nate didn't know he could purchase an international license from AAA. or does he not live in the US?

Nate doesn't live in the US and Japan has different rules than many countries about driving as a tourist. We've done our research.

Bummer..... hope you taught them how to use public transport so they aren't housebound the entire time

We actually don't have public busses down here...but they're prepared with lots to do and numbers to call. Nothing more I can do.

I'm sure they will do great, De'Etta. Especially if you get some more snow! They'll have lots of playing to do! Have a save trip!

What a comfort I'm sure it is for you to have your brother with the children. Enjoy your travels.
