Yikes- it's catching!

Check out the way Zander did his hair today.
Yeah, I'm not sure what's up with the snake, and there are simply so many battles to fight with and for Zander that I don't make him wear his clothes inside out unless we are leaving home or having friends in. LOL

De'Etta, I think the hair looks cute. As for the inside-out-clothes...at least he had clothes on...I won't publicly tell you what he had on...or didn't have on...when I dropped off the kids yesterday. LOL I had a good laugh.

::snort:: Running around in his underwear or worse? A year ago I couldn't keep clothes on him at all....when he was little he would strip at church. A year ago he'd begin shedding clothes as he walked from the car to the house. We're making progress....I think...unless he was naked when you dropped them off....

Cool hair! Nice snake. My kids love those plastic snakes, shudder.

I've been meaning to ask what the issue is/was with the clothes shedding. Is it a sensory thing or a temperature issue? Curious!

Kathy - it's a sensory thing. He did this in AK as well. It's a good thing I'm a "roll with the punches sort of mother" or this jewel (and he IS) would have pushed me over the edge. ::snort:: He was little and we'd find him shedding clothes in the chapel nursery.

I've had some mention that I'm neglectful for letting him run around dressed strange...but I'm not. I watch him closely. I just don't think it is beneficial to force him to always do something that is difficult for him when we're at HOME - doesn't seem to matter overly much. NOW - since we changed our diet...it's amazing what a different boy he is...but he still has some sensory issues....always will. We DO require clothes now (I just don't care if he wants the tags on the outside)....but I can always tell if we're going to have a bad day by what he wears to the breakfast table. ::snort::

I have some clothes too that drive me BATTY....certain tags will do that...and cutting them doesn't totally help. I love the shirts with the tags PRINTED on the shirt itself. Great invention.

Gotta love sesnory issues! We deal with the clothes thing too. Mine doesn't completely shed, but she is happiest in short barely covering her dresses. We're trying to find the balance between modesty and not forcing the issue! :-)

I know we will ALL be glad when the warm weather arrives and it is no longer long pants and shirts weather! That's half the battle right there!

Just so you can laugh, we were ready to go to Trevor's doctor appointment last week. At the door he said I forgot to put on underwear I need to do that. So he still hates it, since it's uncomfortable when pants are on top of it, but knows we wear it in public and actually remembered himself this time and din't fuss about it....progress!

He looks like an angel. A sleepy angel.

We had the sensory issues too with dd (ASD) at that age, but believe it or not she grew out of them! Just about.

One thing she still does is cringe when I try to brush her hair. We read in a book about her condition that kids like her often feel light touch on the head as PAIN. Light bulb moment for both of us there!
